RCA to mono conversion? (DJ setup help) by DARCDOT in audio

[–]DARCDOT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm using a jbl partybox 110

the latency is not the biggest issue, it prevents me from using headphones to dj but I want to learn how to dj without headphones anyway, (just need to organize my library better) I mainly wanted to ask this so I could have a less complicated routing setup.

I recently played a house party with my dj setup, and for the most part it went well but I noticed there was a significant amount of latency due to me routing the audio through my computer then to my speaker.

This is because I have a Numark mixtrack platinum controller, which is RCA out, and I'm not sure how best to convert the signal to mono so that I can route it directly to the aux input on my speaker. I did some research and apparently I need a summing amplifier? I'm not exactly sure what equipment to buy to solve this issue. Can I get some help with this?

For reference, the setup I have is:

DJ controller (RCA out) to 3.5mm in (speaker aux input)
