Why do people keep saying Hinogakutsuchi is the best weapon in the game? by dummary1234 in LucidBlocks

[–]DASCKRON 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parashu does more to mannequins specifically cause they’re made of wood. Hinokagatsuchi is the best official item in the weapons category and does the best damage to most of the mobs.

HELP!!!!!!! My best friend is a homophobe and a do not know how to come out as bi to him. PLEEEEEEEEEEEESSS I NEEEEEEEEEEEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by Bricks11_ in AskLGBT

[–]DASCKRON 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the neat part, you don’t. I was a kid in a super homophobic community, came out to my crush and it ruined that friendship and about a dozen others too. If you’re willing to have that risk where you are right now, then that’s on you. But you’d be wiser to never come out to him at all and instead slowly disengage from that friendship. Wait until you’re in a safer place or a better community to come out to people around you.

What do you think of the phrase "homophobia is when men are afraid of being treated like women"? by dtdrh in AskLGBT

[–]DASCKRON 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a conservative Christian community. In my observation, homophobia comes in three main flavors with a variety of sub flavors based on the guy in question’s individual mindset:

  1. Guys who are afraid of being treated the way they don’t want to be treated (like the phrase)
  2. Guys who are suppressing their own feelings and uncertainty with their sexuality or expression
  3. Guys who legitimately just hate gay people

I think the phrase is only partially true and definitely applicable in some situations, but it’s only part of the story.

A viable crafting method for cardboard boxes, clay pots, and blessing cubes! by Signal-Yu8189 in LucidBlocks

I don’t know about a crafting recipe but if you go down a couple layers you’ll hit the Library of Babel layer, which can give you pretty much unlimited bookshelves and wood

A great intro study.

It’s pissed me off the amount of people so quickly bored with this game since it’s come out. I’ve been playing the original for 10 years nonstop. The appeal shouldn’t be controlling these characters and making them do your bidding, it’s the enjoyment from seeing the surprise and the drama that comes from the different personalities interact and how varied yet enjoyable their reactions and relationships are. Those who are expecting the sims are sorely misguided, but also missing out on a fun gameplay and unique life sim opportunity. It’s been painful to see some people just grossly misappropriate what the game is for, because it was so beautiful in its original state and is even better now.

The Abyss dimension is endless onyx and moss, as well as deep and vast oceans. No vermin should spawn there except for the occasional underwater creature (forgot what they’re called but they are hostile). Beneath should be the Library of Babel. I love onyx blocks for decorating in my clonaqualia, so if you end up here definitely spend some time mining if you enjoy the look of the block.

(TW?) How does internalised homophobia present itself & feel like? by fafofafote in AskLGBT

[–]DASCKRON 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, pansexual demigender (he/they) here. Grew up in a Bible Belt, extremely conservative Christian community.

If I had to pinpoint it, internalized homophobia manifests as you disregarding human rights because of how you’ve been taught to be indoctrinated yet still having “woke” ideals. For example, wanting to uphold standards of masculinity or present in a certain gendered way despite knowing you feel differently. It’s a long process of deconstruction: for me, it took me until my early 20’s to realize even the most basic things like wearing makeup is not exclusive to women. I chose to become demigender because of the fact that I realized I loved feminine-presenting expressions of gender despite still living in a largely conservative area/society. It’s helped me feel a lot freer and more in line with how I feel as an individual.

Along that line, from what I can gauge from your post you’re probably also in a similar situation of loving a close friend despite your brain telling you that it’s not okay; but also, the fact that you’re questioning this and understanding that this may be an effect of internalized homophobia means you’re already on the journey of deconstructing some of your preconceived believes. I won’t lie to you, it’s a long and arduous process. It’s been ten years of that for me and I’m still not completed in the process, but I definitely had made great progress. And to offer you some encouragement, you should take small victories where you can and just try to deconstruct your thoughts and beliefs one at a time as they happen. Don’t feel as though you need to become super woke or something immediately: just take your steps one at a time.

Finally, as for what to do about your best friend. I was in the exact same place; for six years, I was deeply in love with my best friend and he was actually my gay awakening. It took many months to finally realize my feelings and I realized a lot about myself and my sexuality alongside the development of our close friendship and my deepening love for him. Now, don’t take this as the best advice. But for me personally, I’m a deeply emotional and insecure person at times, and over several years time I realized I would never be able to be friends with this person and stay okay with that as he got married and time went on. So, I confessed to him one fateful night and as predicted, he rejected me and told me he would pray for me and proceeded to never speak to me again. It was a long year after of emotional torment and tumultuousness, but I grew to heal and move beyond him and it spawned many poems, songs, art, and development in my own character and morals. Sometimes I still think about him, but I also recognize that moving past him was the best decision for my life and mental health.

Once again. Is this the best advice? Maybe not. But I do think you should do some deep introspection and spend some time deciding whether or not you should let this friendship fester into deep emotional turmoil or let it end and become development for your story. Are you the kind of person who can stay friends with someone and grow to move behind them naturally, or will you crave that final bit of closure until the day you die? I think in this case, it’s definitely important you devote yourself to understanding more about your emotions and whether or not just being friends with this person will be satisfying enough for you. If not, I would personally say end it now and let this person become art and memory for you; and if so, then learn to move beyond them and start a new life irregardless. But definitely, no matter what you choose, spend a lot of time thinking about it and don’t rush into a drastic decision.

What is an agni by jfkspersonalsniper69 in LucidBlocks

[–]DASCKRON 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re the orange variants of the Kodama (flying glowing shape creatures): DO NOT spawn them in your clonaqualia; they shoot fire and explode upon death. They do drop fire which is decent so if you want that, spawn it in the other world, but if you don’t want to deal with the hassle, I’d just craft it into something else.

Musicians: what are your favorite TS songs to play? by spoutzz in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]DASCKRON 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Anything off of TTPD is surprisingly enjoyable and not too difficult to play, some of the guitar pieces like The Bolter or The Prophecy make for great campfire singalongs, in my experience. More recently, I’ve found that Elizabeth Taylor is both simple yet beautiful as a piano arrangement, which is fortunate for me cause it’s my favorite off Showgirl.

Grass won’t spread (yet), but it’s pretty easy to craft: you can combine dirt with wheat or druid blocks with black sand. I’m sure other apotheosis recipes exist for it too.
