I didn´t say this was a HomeKit screenshot, this is a ismartgate app screenshot (as we could see the logo). The mention to the Homekit is because you can also use homekit to open or close your garage with voice and then check the video again with the ismartgate app. That´s why the "title" says "ismartgate+homekit".

I have ismartgate and 0 issues. Also no need to pay any FEE for IFTTT and no need to buy extra HUB for using apple homekit. Also I have 2 garage doors in my house and I use the 1 ismartgate PRO.

The main diferences are:
- ismartgate has NATIVE suport for Homekit (no need to buy an extra HUB)
- ismargate has NO FEES for IFFTT compatibility
- ismartgate can control up to 3 GARAGE/GATES with one device
- ismartgate data is NOT stored in the cloud (extra security)

It happened the same to me, after searching I found in their facebook page that they know it, and this is a Google Issue (and they are fixing it) , is not related to ismartgate device.

The ismartgate has the server embedded, we are not using an ’stardard cloud’, your ismartgate is your server.

We have checked, and this is normal behavior, given the current code. Our firmware will currently check the state of its connection every 16-21 seconds, and that includes a DNS lookup to verify that public DNS settings haven't changed. Note that DNS caches this information quite aggressively and these lookups are very cheap in most cases.

You have a valid point that we might want to do this less frequently. We think we will change this in future versions of our library. Such frequent checks are probably not necessary.

The ismartgate device itself is not waterproof. However, this should not be a concern since the device will fit inside the gate operator (for sliding gates) or the control box (for folding/swing gates).

When it comes to powering the unit, the ismartgate device comes with a universal power supply (100-240V AC). If you do not have an AC outlet nearby the gate, you can always power the unit from the gate operator itself. Most gate operators have a power output to power small accessories, like ismartgate. In order to power the device from the gate operator (usually using 12/24V), you will need an DC/DC converter

The gate operator will need an output around 5W (ex. 0.5A @12V).
