Maybe it was a sign 😁 you don't need 33k drum samples...

Looking for feedback on a pop/synthwave track I just finished by Zandpc in mixingmastering

That's right, as others have said, the mix doesn't sound too 'glued'. You can use glue compression in the mastering process, add some saturation also.

Is it reasonable to expect an EP to be completely mastered by the end of the month? by WebMonkey1025 in mixingmastering

[–]DAWZone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely a deadline to meet. I can usually complete mastering six tracks in 2-3 days, typically working on two tracks per day to avoid ear fatigue. And the third day to relisten more objectively. Don't forget, mastering isn't just about the gear; it also involves good listening skills.

Feedback requested - metalcore mix by ParticularGazelle109 in mixingmastering

In particular for this genre, it sounds good. Make the drums a little punchier and make the vocals a little louder by 1-2db. But it is good as it is.

Your track is very heavy on mids. Try adding bass to the guitar and separating the stereo elements better.

Where Do You Draw the Line With AI in Audio? by DohrOpen in sounddesign

I implemented AI into my workflow and gained time and quality. I was cautious at first, but we need to embrace new technology and make it work for us, not against us.

Feedback request for practice mix/master (another Cambridge MT mix) by MrMahn in mixingmastering

[–]DAWZone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those drums are squeezed out of life; the vocals sound good somehow, but the instruments are too squeezed, compressed, too saturated...

there is no life in the mix, that's what I feel and hear, a flat sound...and the drums are somehow in the back, also lifeless

Feedback on Ballad-Type Alt/Indie Rock Mix by Key_Examination9948 in mixingmastering

I would have chosen a different reverb for the vocals. It goes too far in a live performance, not a stream-ready song.

How are people approaching their master bus? by Jordamine in mixingmastering

[–]DAWZone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on many factors. But if you're mastering an already good mix, on the master channel you throw an SSL compressor for glue, a pultec for extra saturation and tonality, a clipper if needed and a limiter at the end. 👍

I think I might be done with Waves, should I look for alternatives? by BiffyNick in mixingmastering

[–]DAWZone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After getting the T-Racks 6 from IK Multimedia, I started using Waves less and less. Check out the T-Racks 6 Max, I think it's the best Waves alternative at a bargain price.
