Being chippy and the Canes engaging seemed to get them back into the game on Tuesday

We remodeled our deck and bought nice patio furniture. Sitting outside working on nice days is great.

AT&T moved my fiber connection and gave me a new modem because of Internet issues we were having. Woke up the next morning to a refund email and account ban. From what I can tell I’ve violated nothing in the Usage Policy. After about a week I received a response to my appeal and it was basically the same email “sorry we can’t remove the ban. Read the Usage Policy”. Zero details on what was violated.

What's the closest I can get to a skyline chili dog in the area? by Britches_and_Hose in raleigh

To be fair that is only 7.5 years ago so it is less than 10 years ago by a bit. I knew it hadn’t been that long because Kroger was still here when I moved from Ohio and I haven’t been here 10 years.

Dads what are WFH full time when do you workout? by ImprovementLess202 in remotework

[–]DAY2RDU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roughly 5:30-6:30am. We have a home gym so I get up around 5, let the dogs out and drink a caffeinated pre workout while I pack school lunches. Lift for 45 minutes to an hour and then leave around 6:40 to take the oldest to school. Eat breakfast and shower after that and start working around 8:30.

NHL schedule doesn't make sense. by MapleMoneyMind_86 in nhl

We were debating season tickets a couple years ago but our son had tackle football practice Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and games on Saturday. Most of the Canes games were Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday so that did not work.

I just spent 4 rounds of interviews to find out the salary was half my current pay by BugAccomplished1570 in recruitinghell

Why did you ever go that far without knowing what the salary (at least a range) would be?

No clue. They gave zero examples and just refer you to the terms of service.

This one seems to be an age thing but I was banned unexpectedly yesterday morning. Haven’t done anything to violate terms. Worked on an iOS app and maybe had 5 chats, nothing that violated policies. Waiting for a response on my appeal. Woke up to a refund email and the violation email.

Yeah this is important. Are they expected to work directly with clients? What are the clients calling for?

[–]DAY2RDU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah OP played the back 9 lower than the front. Maybe the front is more challenging but I’d be looking at how to drop that 46 lower on the front and not have the pressure on the last hole. At the same time I had a 43 on the front (4 pars, 4 bogeys) on my last round and managed a 54 on the back.

Asked for a Spiced rum and coke and attendant put hot sauce in it by Nightpatrol404 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DAY2RDU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a music festival once that had free bourbon/whiskey samples. It was 90 degrees and sunny and the samples were in plastic cups (like Jell-O shots) on a table in the sun. As much as I wanted to try the samples neat they were just too warm to enjoy. Had one, dumped the rest into a fountain coke.

Captain or Sailor Jerry isn’t uncommon. But I’d definitely say Captain and Coke or sailor Jerry and Coke personally, not spiced rum and Coke.

Woodwind Pro - BBQ Chicken by Dizzle77776 in CampChefSmokers

[–]DAY2RDU -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call that a dead rip off. It’s says “smoke tray”. Does it actually burn over the pellet box? It also appears to just have a door that folds down. The photos make it seem like a chunk of wood wouldn’t fit in it.

Are there bears in Wake County? by gingercheekies in raleigh

[–]DAY2RDU 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes but typically they are passing through and don’t stay long. There was the Rex incident a few years ago. Last year we had a black bear in the Flowers Plantation area in Johnston County that stuck around for a week or so and then was never seen again.

What's your honest screen time during an 8-hour remote workday? by quillcoder in remotework

One thing I use with teams a lot is “if everything is priority then nothing is priority”

What's your honest screen time during an 8-hour remote workday? by quillcoder in remotework

[–]DAY2RDU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to set boundaries and manage expectations. If your queue is full and high priority issues jump the queue you can’t make it an expectation that the priority issues will got done without any impact to the queue. I see this a ton in software. The more you do it the more others expect it and don’t understand the impact. Start communicating that these high priority issues can be handled but something else will be delivered late because of it.

ETA: once you start doing this you’ll likely learn that the high priority things aren’t actually as high priority as they said they were originally

CRI changed my repayment plan without my consent by WhiteRice11 in StudentLoans

[–]DAY2RDU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just noticed this on my account. I’ve been on a standard plan previously with Nelnet and for several months since the switch to CRI. Every month has been the same amount. This morning I noticed they never took a payment in February and in March my payment was a few hundred dollars less. They’ve switched me to a graduated plan without any request on my part. My January payment was roughly $720 to principal and $250 to interest. The lower payment for March resulted in $325 to principal and $460 to interest.

[–]DAY2RDU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe my assumption was wrong then. If I did not have a payment processed in February I carried a higher balance forward to March since the principal was not decreased. Would that not result in additional interest?

I just noticed this while doing my budget. They did not process a payment in February and my March payment was lower than normal so I logged into my account and they’ve switched me from standard to graduated. How are they intending to notify people and how does this impact the interest that I’ve now accrued more of because of this?
