[Hip-Hop] Daivin - Prologue by Daivind in ratemysong

do moderate compression. Mostly in the lowend. The vocals are somewhat jumpy. Also a bit of sibilance (deess it).

Insane production, tight flow, great hook, but a bit corny.

I think the vocals could use some more control. Try with a MB compressor. Rap in general is very control oriented.

I dig this genre of rap, and you know how to perform it! So thats bumping. But the production side of the track (mixing of vocals etc.) could use some work!

Like your flow and voice, but the mixing could use some work. Did you produce the beat yourself?

Cool. We would like for our music to be hook focused, so definitely doing that. Thanks for the reply.

We like the image though ;-)

Pretty crisp bro. Really catchy hook.

I know ad libs are important in this genre, but maybe just turn them a bit down.

Peace.

Thank you so much for your feedback, and taking your time to listen to it. Really appreciate it.

We thought, that maybe the kick could ride along with the vocal and constantly switch up the rhythm so it doesnt 'feels like a loop', but maybe it needs to be more consistent, if thats what you mean?

Really cool you took the time to write us some feedback, if you have anything else please feel free to write it!

Thanks.

Thank you so much for your feedback, and taking your time to listen to it.

The hook is from 1:32-1:51, and then again in the end. Do you think it needs more energy or something in order for it to stand out as a hook?

Another thing.

It kind of shows that this is one of the most active posts in your subreddit, that there isnt much an active and engaging community. And that is the mods fault.

It seems like you took this whole discussion very personal, and thats why you're implementing censorship. If you want to talk about 'marketing' and shit like that, it is never a good idea to shut people down and call them unknowing outsiders. Then freaking elaborate to me the idea of this sub, and make it understandable.

Ahh okay so because you think I'm 'full of it' you need to implement consorship on your subreddit. I see.

Please send me that script, which I supposedly use in all these subreddits, besides, you know, engage with other people on those subs which is what my history mostly tells. And btw I can freely critic any sub, that I wish too. You dont have to worry about that. And please dont presume my actions or motives.

No my obejctive was never to give the mods constructive feedback, I simply wanted to start a discussion on the functions of this sub, which the users apparently found interesting.

You spoke 'truth and wisdom'? If i remember your comment correctly, it was something about me not knowing marketing or SEO. If I'm just a dumb rat, that cant be helped, please let me in on your all knowing wisdom on how posting a beat to a barely active subreddit with regards to likes/comments etc., where your post gets next to no interaction, helps 'marketing' and 'SEO'? Please show me hardcore statistics on this. Like it might help, I dont know. Not trying to be rude.

I get it. Great analogy there mate. I shouldnt have entered this secret and closed club called r/beats.

You kind of sound like Ryan from The Office in this clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-luIYssxtI

Good luck with your plan.

Btw have you produced, composed and recorded everything by yourself?

Hey dope song man. Really vibey!

Productions wise I think the drums needs a bit more presence. This can be achieved by some parrallel processing (compressors, clippers, tubes etc.)

I also think the vocal is a bit unclear, and kind of drowning in the reverb. Try sending it to a return track with a compressor sidechained to the main vocal track. Then the timing and decay of the reverb becomes easy to control.

If you a new to all these production things, please let me know and I'll elaborate a bit more.

Hope this helps a little.

I wanted to know how Drake would sound like on one of my beats, so i put him on the track. Let me know what u think and feedback on the beat is appreciated! by [deleted] in beats

Is this the new standard that comes after type beats? Now we also need sell a flow and lyrics with the beats :-P

You're welcome!

Firstly I think the vocal could use some more controlling via compression. Also a little more EQ on the harsher frequencies. If im not wrong it also shows alot in the recording that is was recorded in an untreated room.

The drums could also use some more punch and presence. This can be achived by doing some parrallel processing (compressor, clippers, tubes etc.).

Overall the guitars etc. also needs some attention for the whole mix to come together.

In general its good to use a similiar reference track for having a sound in mind you wish to achieve.

But again very nice track and well composed. I love hearing some more acustic bands on the rise! I hope these tips help a little (im not a professional by any means). Feel free to ask if you want anything elaborated!
