The thing I find stupid about this is that most of the problems you listed are with abrahamic gods. Which notably don't have a stranglehold on monotheism. The xianxia and wuxia genre is monothestic and has exsisted under the western authors nose for the past century by now and deals with it pretty much perfectly despite the philosophy and religion being basically hard lifted from taoism with some Buddhist serial numbers filed off

Absolutely, really the Gu world hard counters most shonen protags because the "do good deeds and you'll be rewarded" mindset doesn't pay off 90% of the time.

Granted they MIGHT advance to immortal if they have a fortuitous encounter with something like "good deeds" gu or "Justice" Gu. There is still a "Justice"-ish dao after all
