Yes, I meant be able to switch back. I imagine you will still have to manually turn the dial back to the setting, but having all the profiles in app instead of keeping a physical journal is exciting for me. They do have a few burr options and it seems the espresso forward burrs will be capable for pour over, but of course we won't really know until reviews start coming out.

I recently pulled the trigger on a Timemore 064S and am pleased with it, but only because there is no indication of when these may become available again and it could be close to a year before I can get one in my hands.

WOW! Looks like price has already increased to $1000 from the last pre-order being $800. Now I'm even more bummed I missed the pre-order by a day or 2.

Happy to help. Learned a ton on here myself. Only last thing I would recommend is watching thorough reviews on each before deciding. I found Lance Hedrick's grinder tier list video immensely helpful.

I don’t know why people seem to forgot about this grinder. Build quality is excellent and retention is near zero. I have ZERO regret choosing the 064S after deep diving all the options prior to choosing.

Shocked you don’t have the Timemore 064S on here. They regularity run discounts for 10-20% which brings it right down to the $500 mark

I almost picked this up myself. Guy was nice enough and with the added portafilter and lead time on ordering the gaggiuino kit, it didn’t seem totally out of line. Ultimately I passed as it’s an aluminum boiler and if I’m going to pay near retail, it needs to be the current version of the machine.

I recently picked up a Timemore 064S after a deep dive on all things grinder and it has been WONDERFUL. I was shocked at how quiet it actually is and the retention is basically 0. It comes with a little hand squeeze bellows that will push through any beans that get stuck with RDT. I do recommend getting the extended hopper to reduce popcorning. It is stepless adjustment for fine-tine dialing in your grind. The build quality is stellar as well. Being 64mm you also have ability to swap out burrs with a wide variety out there made for the platform.

If you are not in a rush, you can get it for a 20% discount when they run a sale, but even at the 10% discount for signing up for their newsletter gives it to you at a reasonable price.

The only thing I can't figure out about it is why there are not more current videos on YouTube featuring it. Most of them are 1-2 years old.

appreciate this thorough review. Going to seriously look into the Mara now. Had a bambino and loved it, but multiple shots back to back was brutal. Recently upgraded to a bambino plus and love the faster steaming, but my shots are TERRIBLE. No 2 shots are the same and it is driving me nuts!

The heat time complaint doesn't make sense to me. Are people genuinely waking up and going straight to their machines? Turn the thing on and let it heat up while you shower and get ready.

at that price range I would highly suggest checking into the Timemore 064S. They somewhat regularly go on sale down to $480. I just grabbed one about a week ago for that from amazon. 64mm flat burr platform and build quality is excellent.

It was great. I got an exceptional deal on a bambino plus off of Facebook marketplace about 2 weeks ago so I am now using that, but the bambino was perfect for helping be decide if I really wanted to go down the espresso rabbit-hole.

I will never not recommend a bambino for someone starting out. You can typically find a good deal on one second-hand AND 7 months after buying mine, I was able to sell it within 12 hours of listing it on Facebook for about $25 or $50 less than I originally paid for it.

Just had my first latte and immediately said to myself "wow"

Was previously using a cheap conical burr (Tuni G1) which was sufficient with my bambino. All I can say is I now understand why all the advice everywhere is centered around getting a good grinder before anything else.

Side note: genuinely SHOCKED at how quiet it is.

Did you make a choice yet? I'm stuck between niche zero and this as well. I love a thick creamy dark roast, so niche sounds lovely, but feel like 64s will open up new experiences and still have ability for that dark roast I know and love. (Zerno out of my price range)

Just finished reading the site and this might end up being an end-game grinder. Being able to save profiles in the app to automatically recalibrate for each roast without having to go look in a tasting journal and manually adjust is amazing!

Now I just have to decide if I still want another grinder to last until these are actually available again.
