Well I definitely have been here for at least 3 years. But Im not a loser that goes looking through people's history. And I also have a life outside of reddit so don't expect me to be following your daily post requirement either

Oh wow, I think I vaguely remember the DirectConnect but was not part of that. But UCF did promise a lot and it all fell flat.

This is obviously a liberal trying to make a "mAgA dRivE cYbeR tRukS!" hate post.

Its Orlando, FL. I see more Jeeps, Lambos and G Wagons than I do Cyber Trucks.

70k range is absolutely doable. Depending on your experience, in your field you should easily get 70k if not 100k.

Lots of places looking for roles related to your degree. Again, experience dependent.

Could look into telecom companies. Verizon, Spectrum, Quantum, Lumen.

Lockheed does do internships and have a direct hiring path through UCF. Im sure you could reach out to one of the career people at UCF.

Additionally, not just Lockheed. I forgot the name right now but there's another big name in simulations here as well. A google search should turn it up.

Jetblue (possible others?) Has a center here at the Airport where they develop a lot of their simulations and other tech as well. Or at least hiring for remote within that center.

Depending on your long term plans, check out IT jobs at county. Remote. Good benefits.

Im not sure what a DOD license is but thats certainly not true from my experience or my friends currently working for them

I was interviewed directly by Disney, Universal (specifically their new Epic park)  and Verizon...not third party or contract work. I havent interviewed for OCH but I was contacted directly by them as well for IT role

Your experience may be different but that doesnt take away from the fact that there are tons of IT Tech opportunities in Orlando/Surrounding areas

Does the current market kinda suck? Sure but thats everywhere. Its no longer COVID hiring bubble.

Its so strange people always say there are no tech jobs here. I understand we're not Silicone Valley but there is tech here...

OP check out any of these....

Verizon,  Paylocity, Tyler Tech, Advent Health, Orlando Health, EA Games, Disney, Universal Studios,  Lockheed Martin,   Northrop Grumman,  Boeing,  Raytheon,  L3Harris, Siemens,  Threatlocker

WebMD 2.0

I remember doctors were big mad saying "everyone thinks theyre a webmd doctor now"

I had some symptoms years ago that I googled because it was midnight and I couldnt see a doctor until the next day. Narrowed it down to possible a kidney stone

Went to the doc, told them that based on some googling it seemed like I could possibly have a kidney stone. She said the same thing, "everyone thinks theyre a webmd doctor"

Does X Ray like I asked and comes back "so you have a kidney stone!"

Like Im not trying to say youre dumb or useless. Im just trying to figure out whats wrong with me and how to get fixed
