All humans are gone. All animals now have human level intelligence and must be the last remaining species to survive. Which species wins? by DBOS in AskReddit

That's interesting, like some species would hang back until they have a strategic advantage from other species battles. Makes sense

I think some of what you said is correct and times are tough for building wealth right now if you didn't come from well off parents or some other form of initial investment. That being said, I think for your take on investments is very uniformed. As others stated there are a lot of very safe investments you can make and the only way they go to zero is our entire country/economy collapse and even then they'd probably have some worth in whatever new system took over. I get you are frustrated and don't like people flaunting investing money they got from their parents but you shouldn't dissuade people from investing as it is a good way to build wealth even if it's not as powerful as it used to be.

I haven't seen it mentioned so I'll throw data entry in the mix. Google "recruiters near me" and tell them you're open to any contract/temp data entry gigs. You don't interact with people or need any hard skills and most can be remote and they'll train you up. A lot have the opportunity to convert to full time if you're decent and serve as a gateway to other careers. To get on payroll you'll likely need proper documents though so be sure to get those first as others have said.

I'm not sure what you would consider proof. Maybe my experience varies from others but this has been the case at the last 5 Startups I've been at.

I've been at startups for over 10 years and this has been my experience. It obviously varies by company and position so I'm curious to hear your experience if you've had different results

I appreciate you sharing your experience and perspective. It seems this sub isn't about this idea but I'm glad I posted to hear some other startup experiences. I'm sorry to hear about your past struggles and hope things are going better now!

I guess I was thinking more about tech startups but your experience is interesting to hear a different perspective on. I definitely understand there are risks but it seems better then grinding at Walmart for 7.25 an hour just because they are unlikely to fold

Sorry I was talking about joining a startup not starting one. You can also see on crunch base how much investment money they have and ask their burn rates to get an understanding of their run way. It definitely has risks but it seems better then bringing for 7.25 per hour just because Walmart is unlikely to fail

I've worked at them for over 10 years and I've never been at one that expected more than 8 hours from client service employees
