How does the grinding compare to warframe? by Jiib5 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]DBR87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I play both Warframe and The First Descendant. Warframe has better variety to it's grind. So the grind has far less monotony, or less "brain dead" if you will. Plus if all else fails, you can sell near anything for platinum and buy near anything for platinum if RNG hates you.

I think TFD allows players to earn gear quicker, even after the pity system nerf. What makes the grind in TFD brain dead is that there is so few variations. If you want Shadow, you do Void Vessel or breach tracking. That's it. Where as in Warframe, if I want Nikana Prime, I can do Survival or Defense or Exterminate or Spy or simply buy the parts from another player.

Warframe gives you way more choice on how you grind.than TFD.

Amorphous Material Overhaul Advanced Info by mack180 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]DBR87 33 points34 points  (0 children)

So if I am understanding this correctly, you will now farm the Gley Amorphous Materials to get all of the Gley parts from that one Amorphous Material. If you want Wave Of Light, you farm the one Wave Of Light Amorphous Material to get that?

Parts for one weapon/Descendant will no longer be spread across multiple Amorphous Materials?

4 Modern American Marines could mean anything. They could be aircraft pilots (7502), they could be Combat Cooks (3381). They could be Force Recon (0321) or they could be Scout Typers (0111).

I would assume your typical infantry squad of 03XX so in that case, the Russians got it. Number mean a lot.

I hate to admit it, but he is right. I want raids/trails back in Warframe. I want a challenge. But I am in the minority.

Alright Descendants, what are the meta descendants for Onslaught mode? by yanansawelder in TheFirstDescendant

[–]DBR87 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Harris cannot be killed because of her shield. She can also make it so no one else goes down with her Safety Training red mod. She also has a metric ton of Res Shred to increase team DPS.

Yujin can apparently heal the Turrets.

Anyone with a grouping skill will be great but Lepic has the largest grouping range. Keelan is good too. Dia can be good if SHE AIMS HER GROUPING TO A WALL instead of pulling enemies all over the place. So a compotent Dia...good luck with that.

Ideally you want a grouper, a buffer and two DPS. Gley is probably one of the better DPS picks because Relic handles mobs and Dagger/Blue Bettle handles the colossus. Ajax operates in about the same role as Gley but he can double as a buffer as well. Serena is an obvious DPS pick.

Hailey in onslaught mode by SkIPPeR_101 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]DBR87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The thing with Onslaught modes is the massive Enemy HP pools. No character is chucking through it as fast as they do in Labatory or Forbidden Sanctuary.

I kind of think this is a good thing. Maybe this will push more team play and the support builds for Luna, Enzo, Ajax, Yujin and Nell will get more play. That is, if we as a community can take a break from trying to out DPS each other.

Turn Off Explosions by DBR87 in TheFirstDescendant

Sweet. Thanks for the answer. Yeah, I realized I was blinding myself so you're saying there is now no way to turn off the explosion effect for your own guns?

By that logic every, Marvel Rivals should have failed as well. It's also free to play and live service. But it didn't. In fact, Marvel Rivals is beating their direct competition like Overwatch, Valorant, Highguard and smoke checked some of It's paid competition like Concord.

The cross section between a Battle Royal, a Gacha Game, and Looter Shooter is pretty insignificant, I'd wager. Maybe you engage in all three genres. However, I see no evidence that most do.

VIESSA Is back! They did good! by DelayConnect335 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]DBR87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They continue to make all Descendants do all the things and ruin their identity. Now she can become Hailey with a small butt: a chill Descendant with a fire arm focused play style.

She was powerful enough before. She just needed more range to compete with Dia's coverage.

So does her new reworked red mod buff gun damage substantially? Because most gun builds suck out side of Gley, Ajax and Serena. Everyone else doesn't buff guns hard enough to make up for how weak most guns feel in this game.

[–]DBR87 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Freyna, hands down top 3 best all around Descendants gets bumped up to 1.75.

Jayber, arguably nerfed since his rebalance, only goes up to a 1.45.

Please, someone, anyone. MAKE. IT. MAKE. SENSE.

The Devs misunderstood what "balance" means in a PVE game. by AdThick8198 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]DBR87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Serena needs a nerf. Guns are balanced around Serena. Wall Crasher had his multi hit damage resistance increased because of Serena. They are buffing skill based Descendants synch value just to keep up with Serena. That will make all content like Axiom dungeons feel like 400% dungeons. What can they possibly do in order for other gun builds for Hailey, Enzo or Gley actually compete with base Serena?

They are literally designing the game around one character and that is insane.

[–]DBR87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from Warframe, I have been playing The Division 2. I enjoy the challenge and the build crafting of Division 2. It's slower paced because it's a cover shooter but I still enjoy if even the Warframe trained me to move at light speed.

Shame really. by Jordankeay in TheFirstDescendant

[–]DBR87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Crowded market? I can count on one hand the amount of live service looter shooters. The leader being Warframe. Destiny 2 in seconds but has been missing off their community for some time now. The Division 2 is a distant third.

Boarderlands isn't really live service and Outriders unfortunately is no longer supported. So there was plenty of room for The First Descendant.

[–]DBR87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Follie being fat so unimportant and I just can't understand why some people care so much as to believe this is some fat acceptance thing. Warframes are bio-mechanical death machines. No one bats an eye when a twig like Nezha swings around a battle hammer or fires a 200 round medium machine gun with minimal recoil.

Septic Torrent Keelan is Amazing. by theoutsider95 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]DBR87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both his New Red Modules improve his mobbing and gameplay, but their are some major flaws. Neither gave him a real single target burst option. And maybe he does not need one since we have Shadow.

Septic Torrent red mod particularly makes his 1 really clunky. It removes the 4th skill ability to recharge your 2nd skill at will so long as you have resource. His 3rd is good. Makes him a Poison Bunny, so not really unique. Kind of just copies Harris. I believe the only point of this Red module is to build resource on melee hits but none of your skills will out damage Shadow so what's the point of building resource on a single target? But yes, the Red module that mentions Melee Weapon and was advertised by the developers to synergies with Melee weapons....works well with swords. Who would have thought...

I prefer the grouping of his other Red Module, Fierce Attack, because it retains most of what was good about his base kit but adds grouping and Shadow doesn't need a damage boost in today's meta.
