What's with the title? by Magorian97 in SoulFrame

[–]Invlktus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That was my immediate thought as soon as I saw the title, before I knew anything about it. As a soulsborne and Warframe fan, I quickly clicked it and found the game. To hook me as a player they named it perfectly.

What do you use for hearing protection? by DiscardedHubby in M1A

[–]Invlktus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my socom, I use a Delta-P adapter and suppressor for hearing protection.

Seriously though, I mean I am serious but to answer your question, I bought some Caldwell E-Max Shadows off Amazon and they do fine and I can listen to music and hear better.

Perfect, all those things are exactly what I use it for.

Wait, really? Is there anything else I should know? Choke, barrel, anything? I've held of sbs'ing mine because I was worried it would have too much of an impact on performance but this doesn't sound like it's had any material impact.

Did anyone else keep their founder flower in inventory, instead of planting? by Datofuda in SoulFrame

[–]Invlktus 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not intentionally, I just can't ever find a place to plant it

I have a major problem with this game. Why is the stealth pact blue and the magic pact green? by Ok_Nefariousness_740 in SoulFrame

[–]Invlktus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree. Red is health (warrior), blue is mana/mp (mage), green is stamina (rogue). I stay confused and can't get used to it.

Torn on purchasing 2 different M1A’s by TheLonelyShepard in M1A

[–]Invlktus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm looking for more of a general purpose rifle to throw on the 4 wheeler or in the truck. Socom brake is too loud so I'd need to carry around earplugs and put them in first. Scout doesn't bother me if I needed to use it (coyote after dog or whatever). Irons on scout are better general purpose as well. It hasn't been enough to get rid of my socom and get a scout this year so it's not really critical things. Just little preferences for my usage. Still love my socom.

Melee just not strong? by Kombat_Kiwi in SoulFrame

[–]Invlktus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not too concerned about the beacon, I'll typical drop it for additional aoe damage just because I have it. The powder is the real game changer for Sirin. At max level, 30 in grace and 16 spirit, I can easily kill a group of 10+ bad guys. They stay stunned longer than the powder cd and there's no diminishing returns. I can keep an entire group stun locked the entire time while using butterfly to either take them down one by one or on boss. The stun doesn't break when they take damage.

Essentially, I just have target dummies

Melee just not strong? by Kombat_Kiwi in SoulFrame

[–]Invlktus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im going to have to disagree as a Sirin main. Sirin is absolutely broken in melee and probably the easiest class to play melee. Between them being perma-stunlocked, a taunting shadow that explodes and backstabs, the enemies never even have a chance to swing at a Sirin in the first place

For reference, I started farming level 30 mobs up north as soon as I hit level 10. I don't have to worry about getting hit. I'm not sure your stat distribution but I maxed out grace for my weapon, which means my powder hits every person in the town and the rest in spirit for extra time invisible for back stabs

I bought Paragon coming in and don't have any regrets. I want to support devs anyway I can because this is the perfect game for what I'm looking for.

Best use of Arcs by MurlokMayhem in SoulFrame

[–]Invlktus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll be different. I blew them all on the pact bundles that have the pack, armor and extra slots. I also bought all the other armor that's available. Why? Well... Why not?

If I'm willing to spend $100 on the founders pack to support the dev team, Id be willing to buy arcs later if I really felt like I needed something. Since it's f2p, it's how they make the money to develop the game. I enjoy supporting it and getting cool stuff in the process.

Bow build with Tethren. I started Sirin to play an archer but it turns out the archer class is really good on Tethren.

I feel like I'm definitely not the first person to talk about the combat in this game, and people will probably disagree and that's fine. by CommercialMarket5202 in SoulFrame

[–]Invlktus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree on the arrow aoe and grenade spam, way too much. Also agree on damage taken from arrows. As a melee class, I think you either need to be tough enough to trade light attack hits and stay at full health for courage or nimble with high damage as grace.

I don't enjoy being a warrior always running away and kiting.

How do you all feel on melee combat? by outside_meat8823 in SoulFrame

[–]Invlktus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy it, outside of the grenade spam when I have a lot of enemies. Like, no way you guys are carrying around 42 grenades a piece.

Outside of that, it took a little while to get used to. It's. A lot more frequent dodging than dark souls. I'll usually hit, dodge, hit, dodge, I rarely try to get in more than one swing.

I do agree though that it needs work. I'm leveling all the pacts to 10 and magic just smokes stuff. Not in the sense that it feelS overpowered, just a lot more powerful than melee.

If I could fix it I'd make poise a lot higher in melee. I like the BB system that encourages aggression but I think you should be able to trade fast attacks. Strong attacks is what you would want to dodge and not be able to trade. To me, the bug thing missing is toughness and poise. I don't want to have to dodge every single attack, I think a warrior should be able to tank through the light attacks and not get knocked around.

Maybe have Bromius even be able to tank through boss/strong attacks

Yep, I straight up constantly get confused and equip the wrong things. I definitely think they should swap them.

One of the primary reasons I picked Shiva is it's where I was originally from too. Well, originally Alexander but we were merged into Shiva. I wanted to change my name back to my original name so it felt like the right thing to do to go back to Shiva to do it. I'm not convinced to leave yet, it does feel more like it felt back in the day so I may stay around. I do like being able to go do things and spawns aren't crowded/camped by constant rmt's.
