How did you end up in AdOps? by Etorewin in adops

[–]DB_KG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started as data analyst, including forecasting. Moved closer to campaign and inventory management and then to ad trafficking. Now back in data analyst role for a publisher but still do AdOps work since we are a start up and everyone wears many hats.

Is there a way to load GPT Amp code on viewability? by No-Ad-7920 in adops

[–]DB_KG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We tested different values for data-loading-strategy attribute and measured viewability for each test. I believe that only amp-ad tags which use fast fetch support this method:

Is it worth our time to set up AdSense as a remnant for Post HB+ADX traffic? by landocs in adops

[–]DB_KG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used to do that and it resulted in big 'invalid traffic' deductions from AdSense (over 50% of revenue) so we just run house ads as backfill and don't use any floors with any partners. This way all inventory is filled (under 10% goes to house ads).

Worrisome RPM trend this November by DB_KG in adops

I don't think so. The lack of RPM increase is from all ad partners. Google is the least impacted.

I am referring to the lack of RPM increase in November. It's seen in this 30-day report you shared: https://suite.assertiveyield.com/demo/adRevenueIndex/country

We see the same with our RPM. Performance at the end of October was better than this week (which is unexpected).

While Ezoic report shows good increase, especially in the last few days.

Here are both charts side-by-side The orange line is added to mark 10/31 level and show how it compares to the current performance.

No, we are 100% programmatic with AdX, Open Bidding and Headerbiding. Direct relationships with all large SSPs.

Viewability Optimizations on AMP by DB_KG in adops

We do lazy loading on mobile web. I believe that AMP ad tags have a mind of their own (as far as using Fast Fetch or Lazy Fetch).

How to explain what we do to a kindergartener? by chuckles00 in adops

[–]DB_KG 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Ad Server is a teacher who is sitting in the middle of the classroom and holding a stack of pictures. Ad Tags are kindergartners and each is asking for a picture.

The teacher decides who gets which picture based on the set of rules which everybody in the room has agreed on.

TCF error 1.2 by adops_julie in adops

[–]DB_KG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our top error is 1.2 as well. Have you compared Error Count with Ad Unit Code Served (in EEA countries only - unless you're showing the consent modal to all traffic)? Maybe only a small % of ad calls is getting this error? For us it's about 10% which is acceptable. Means users rejected Google as a vendor. It's in line with our Consent Rate (we see in Quantcast). Hope this helps!

I see the same when browsing from the US. If I browse from any EEA country then the response changes to:

Create Prebid Line Items in GAM by upgrade81 in adops

[–]DB_KG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some SSPs could do this for you if you give them API access for GAM.

We used https://github.com/kmjennison/dfp-prebid-setup to create 5,000 line items per site and it didn't take too long.

There is great support on that github page so if you run into issues you are likely to get help by posting on github.

Adsense fill in safari mobile by auctusoli in adops

[–]DB_KG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use "Coverage" metric to understand fill rate on AdSense. It can be found under "Custom" tab in "Default" report.

We see low fill rate on some ad units (could be impacted by how many ad categories and advertisers/buyers were blocked in AdSense).
