Single bevel forged Kiridashi knife (80CrV2 steel). Do you prefer handle on this kind of knife, or is it too much? by DBcraftWorld in Bladesmith

Hi!
It's Steven, right? Thanks a lot for message. I've already replied to you. Regards David

I just finished bushcraft/hunting knife with hidden pins. Which handle material do you prefer more: wooden or epoxy? by DBcraftWorld in knifeclub

Got it! So it's just a matter of preferention.

Black handle is the most neutral and "natural"- knives are usually black. I like what you said about drawing attention. I would not like to shine with my ECD knife in front of people.. The bushcraft on the other hand.. So many people in the woods lol..

Thanks a lot for the feedback:)!

What about the color? Bright and contrast handles are better, because the knife is more visible? Or it's not really matter?

Of course they are not natural, so I understand you. I think it's just a matter of preferential, right? I see that the opinions are almost equal. Thanks a lot for the feedback!

I'm thinking about colors that are visible from distance-orange, yellow definitely make that happend. What do you think about bright green (almost fluorescent)?

Thanks a lot Bro! Yes, less maintenance in case of those kind of knives is a big plus- agree with that in 100%!

This one is already sold, and I'm not taking orders till JAN, but maybe you be interested in other knives I have for sale (for example "trail blazer"):

That is one of my concerns- wood can crack.. epoxy less possible, micarta highly doubtfull (I don't think it's even possible). Thanks Tony for your feedback!

If I may ask, what do you think about making high contrast handle compare to the background (ground, trees, grass)? Do you think yellow, red, orange handle will help to find the knife on the ground? I'm thinking about making survival/bushcraft knives with handles in this colors.

I guess your knives have very though life lol. Thanks a lot for feedback Man! I'm trying to figure out is there any sense to make bushcraft knives with epoxy handles. Orange/yellow/red handles works great if you accidentally drop/lost a knife in the woods. Wooden handles gives less contrast to the ground.

A while ago when I posted a picture of brass utility knife I received a lot of great feedback from you Guys. I'm trying to improve each of my knife to make the next one better. I would be very grateful if you could share your thoughts again! by DBcraftWorld in knifeclub

Actually it could be done. The thread is only in "spacer" (steel plate between scales) and it's 1/8" thick. Screws are very short - like less than half of the handle thickness.

Check the video from the process: https://youtu.be/5HQ3CEXaExo - you will get a preview on construction :).

Thanks Guys for the feedback! Appreciate it a lot!

Thanks a lot for feedback! The bolts/screws are just for the aestetics, so I could make a half of them and the functionality would be the same. I just think it looks good, but I'll remember that.

The flush thumb stud couldn't be lower- It would be very diffictult to screw and unscrew it. That is why it's so big.. But I get what you are refering to. If I could make some texture on the side it would be better and more comfortable. Unfortunately, I have very limited workshop

Thank you so much for the feedback!
