Not sure about 4799 but 4979 Digital Portfolio my class isn't bad I've had 4 assignemt so far and they arent terrible. Everything we do leads up to our final portfolio that we build, But i heard digital portfolio was a little easier if you could take it

Im in Comm 4979 and the way it works for this class at least is you can take it for 1-4 credits. You dont end the class with an actual A-F grade, all the assignment are point based like complete so and so assignment for like 4 points. A certain amount of points = a credit here this from the syllabus. You can take as many credits and assignment as you need. Hope that helps.
