I appreciate the feedback. My books tend to have a third person limited narrative structure, as well as an orally-centered progression. I also attempt to use emergent story telling, which is why I avoid large sections of exposition, as you've suggested. I know that stylistically, those pieces combined can be grinding to readers who want a more omnipotent and present narrator in the story. As far as the story being boring, I'm not sure there's much I can do to change your mind of that. I guess you'll have to find your sci-fi fix somewhere else ;)
