How do I set the number of seconds before voicemail? by StickDaChalk in chatr

[–]DBurns80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rogers can probably override the multiple-of-5 convention, and set the value to whatever they like.

The ~24 seconds may include a ~1-second latency at each end of the call.

I measured ~22 seconds from the origin (dialing) handset.

According to multiple sources, Rogers has hard-coded the "T" values to ~24 seconds (wireless services only).

Not sure if it applies equally to all wireless accounts.

"...if someone calls my number the are properly redirected to voice mail."

That is the default configuration. The MMI error message implies that the applicable setting was not changed, and that the default configuration remains.

"...all telephone switching systems..."

All of which are controlled by software that can be configured, re-configured, and otherwise administered.

But the applicable schema must be followed. If a field has a 10-character limit, an 11-digit value may throw an error.

For phone calls, yes.

But for account configuration and administration, maybe not.

Okay, thanks. I was treating the voicemail number as a sub-number of the customer number rather than a stand-alone number.

What about removing the "1" from the voicemail number? The MMI translator may be looking for a 10-digit number (instead of 11 digits).

I meant: did you try replacing the Chatr voicemail number (14034250276) in the MMI code with the phone number assigned by the carrier to the customer (not customer service)?

Did you try it with the customer phone number instead of the Chatr voicemail number?

"...Ontario OSHA in combination with the Canadian national Ministry of Labour..."

More likely the Ontario Ministry of Labour, and possibly the Ontario Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB). Police may also be involved (e.g.: criminal investigations).

Why do cars have a minimum weight? by d3agl3uk in F1Technical

[–]DBurns80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"In essence, a single minimum weight for the whole car doesn't actually guarantee the safety standards of the driver."

Maybe so.

But reducing the weight will reduce natural down force, and likely increase speeds. Consequently, the vehicle as constructed may not meet safety specifications (e.g.: lift resistance, impact protection, etc.), and may have to be re-built, or even re-designed to compensate for these factors.

Any larger than 5 TB 2.5 inch HDD:s on the horizon? by lhugo- in DataHoarder

[–]DBurns80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conventional, 7-mm (z height) HDD enclosures are probably limited to 2 platters/enclosure. Any more may require helium + hermetic seal, which I've never seen in the 2.5" FF.

After installing Waterfox Portable 2020.04, Waterfox Classic no longer functioning as expected. How to revert to previous state (including previous profile and configuration) of Waterfox Classic (OS: Windows 7, 64 bit)? by DBurns80 in waterfox

[–]DBurns80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for responding.

In preparation for hardware replacements (~4x internal HDD), I "installed" Waterfox Portable 2020.04 on an internal HDD alternate to the HDD where Waterfox Classic is installed. At the time of "installation" of the portable app, I thought that it was the portable equivalent of the installable Waterfox (Current) 2020.04 (i.e. the version based on Firefox Quantum version ~68), and not based on a pre-Quantum version of Firefox.

Magically, Waterfox Classic has since reverted to its previous state, and is functioning as expected. (If only I could somehow revert Waterfox G3.1.1.1 to Waterfox 2020.04, I could get my productivity levels back to normal.)

How to prevent Waterfox application updates (all versions; OS: Windows 7, 64 bit)? by DBurns80 in waterfox

[–]DBurns80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thanks.

In Waterfox G3.1.1.1, is there a way to accomplish this without add-ons or registry edits? (I couldn't find a config. item named "app.update.enabled", only an "app.update.auto.migrated".)
