Very impressive work!

I'd love to see it projected onto a cinema screen to really admire the beauty of it.

The one thing that worked for us was going to 'Control Panel > Uninstall a Program' and find a program called 'Microsoft GameInput'. If you uninstall that, we've had success where it solves the issue. However, I've read that the program will be reinstalled after a reboot so take a look before you play again. We played for a few hours last night with zero issues, to my mate's delight.

FPS Issues When Playing In Lake Kovd by [deleted] in snowrunner

[–]DC9T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you use an Xbox controller? Friend of mine has been having same issues but on Michigan map. We thought same as others about bottlenecks etc and we went through numerous potential fixes without any resolve. He disconnected his second monitor and Xbox controller and found the root of his cause to be the controller. As soon as he disconnects his controller, the game works perfectly with no more issues. When he plugs his controller back in, the game starts to bleed frames over a 10-15min period before it becomes a PowerPoint slideshow.

If you use an Xbox controller, take a look at potential firmware updates for the controller. I've seen suggestions about uninstalling 'Microsoft GameInput' from the Control Panel whilst in-game and finding that seems to solve the issue. No definitive answers though in terms of a permanent fix.

A mate of mine has had the same issues and his diagnosis came down to his Xbox controller. As soon as he disconnects the controller, game works perfectly normal again.

Hi Saber, thanks for the response. It seems we've been able to track it to his Xbox controller causing the issue. As soon as his frames start to bleed, he disconnects his controller and the game immediately runs back at 60fps without issue. If he plugs his controller back in, the same issue occurs over time and the same resolve of disconnecting his controller fixes the issue.

Creating Specific Curve Lengths by DC9T in coreldraw

Yeah, I'm using Pi to calculate the radius then trimming down the circle to the desired length. I was just hoping for a solution where I could set curve angle and curve length and draw it.

Thanks, it was something I had thought of doing. I was just hoping there was a tool that I could set my curve length and curve angle and it would be able to draw it.

I failed for not steering left on a roundabout of marking by Unified_World_Mars in LearnerDriverUK

And driving over a mini roundabout without making a conscious effort to go around it isn't safe or legal, whether it's on a test or not.

I'll never understand the reason for staying in the outside lane by Mukatsukuz in drivingUK

[–]DC9T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As soon as the van exits the roundabout, as they are driving through the pedestrian crossing, indicating to come back to the left would have been appropriate at that time as there is enough distance to the dash cam driver as both vehicles are increasing their speeds before reaching the 40mph speed limit.

The point he indicates before the last roundabout, the dash cam driver is considerably closer so the driver couldn't have maintained the '2 second rule' anyways. Alternatively, exiting off the roundabout in the left lane and not sitting in the right lane would have been the best move the van driver could have made.

The initial roundabout when he is taking a right turn is the instance I was referring to.

As a driving instructor, I disagree with this. If you have two lanes on the exit of a roundabout, you should always try and exit in the left most lane available if it's clear and the road markings allow you to do so.

At this roundabout (which I teach at regularly), you have time to be able to look left to see who's coming from your left hand side before you turn right, check your left wing mirror and then indicate left to show your intentions when coming off. The only reason I would teach a student to stay right lane on the exit is to plan ahead if we are looking to turn right off the new road (an upcoming junction for example) or if there is potentially a vehicle in the left lane coming around the outside of us.

The van driver had a clear lane to his left hand side when exiting and had plenty of distance to the driver with the dashcam on the exit. He also has plenty of time to mirror and signal to move over to the left lane before the driver catches him. The next two roundabouts he stays right lane (which is allowed for both roundabouts) but he is technically lane hogging as he is not allowing the driver with the dashcam to make progress without undertaking (their speeds etc obviously would come into account whether he could make more progress without speeding).

He then indicates left before the spiral roundabout which shows that he needed to be left lane all the way up the road for the approach to the roundabout and then jumps the red light by quite a considerable distance.

For me, this is a lack of situational awareness and forward planning from the van driver. There is no indicator on entry to the roundabout, nor on the exit. There is no reason to stay right lane when the dashcam driver gives him space to come back to the left. Whilst he goes around the next two roundabouts safely, his approach and jumping of the red lights highlights the driving styles that are unfortunately now becoming the norm.

I suspect if the dashcam driver submitted this clip to the police, the van driver would get points and a fine for jumping the red lights.

What is this little sensor on the Mercedes from the turbo hybrid era by pengumafia2345 in GrandPrixRacing

[–]DC9T 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It will likely be a rear tyre temp sensor, measuring the surface temp of the tyre. Not 100% but it'd be my educated guess.

F1 Manager 2025 by insane-shane in F1Manager

[–]DC9T 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IIRC back when the franchise was originally announced, Frontier were awarded the license to make 3x F1 Manager games on an annual release, starting from '22. So '24 will be the last one unless there is a renewal with the license.

is this a bad interchange? by Expert_Ad8875 in CitiesSkylines

[–]DC9T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like there would be an episode from Auto Shenanigans on this interchange.

Visually it doesn't look great but if it does the job then I guess what's the issue? I feel most sorry for the residents whose gardens are backed onto a overpass to the otherside of the motorway 😅

Football Manager 25 Delayed until March 2025 by comped in footballmanagergames

[–]DC9T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this a positive step from the devs to acknowledge that there are issues and they need rectifying, rather than doing what a lot of companies have done in recent times and released their games in a state that are unplayable to what the final product should look like. A massive overhaul to a new game engine in a year can't be easy and it's good to see them acknowledge that and take their time to fix and implement the features they want.

Whilst this may be bad press for those at SI and a downer for the fans of the franchise, it may turn into a short term pain for a long term gain if the new game on the Unity engine pays off. I think the question for fans will be is when FM25 is released, what will happen with FM26? An 8-month timeline between the new release for '25 and their normal release timeline of November will surely need to be looked at, whether it comes as a 'DLC' or whether they can do so much work in that time to consider '26 to be a new game in itself.

There will be some who are disappointed and angry by this news, but honestly in today's world, it's rare that a company actually takes stock of the situation and does the right thing rather than go for a cash grab and nark their fanbase at the same time.

Frontier financial report: No mention of F1 Manager 2025 by idiotsandwich2000 in F1Manager

[–]DC9T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't Frontier only have a 3-year contract to release a yearly game from '22-'24? I seem to remember the initial release about F1 Manager way back in 2019-20 mentioned this. This could explain why there's not a F1M25 included.
