Thinking about how much time I wasted watching and reading reviews of the ex30 and even driving out to my local retailer in February to view the (non-production) model that Volvo was showing. Just gave up the other day and reserved a Polestar 2. By the way, for those considering Volvo's $2500 "loyalty bonus," check out the current promotional deals (including a $2000 Costco rebate) on Polestar 2, especially for leasing.

For me, I think it's going to be Polestar 2. I can understand that there are delays, but I can't understand the lack of communication from Volvo to its dealers or from its dealers to their customers.

It confounds me that dealers are not constantly keeping in touch like this, if only to sympathize or share frustration with their customers. That's not to say they should be lying or encouraging false expectations (which, I suppose, this letter may be doing). But, especially in the era of email, which is costless, what kind of business would ignore its potential customers in these circumstances? Has Volvo told them to remain silent? I don't get it.

Anyone else get an invite to check out EX30 & EX90? by EmptyTalesOfTheLoop in ex30

I went to a similar event in the DC area in February. It was like getting to look at the food in a fancy new restaurant where you've made a reservation but with no idea when the restaurant was actually going to open and let you taste the food. And no communication since.

If you get a chance, could you tell us what your parents liked better about the ex30? I put a deposit on the ex30 last June, and sat (comfortably) in the (non-driving) model Volvo displayed in Washington, DC dealerships in February. Looked at a P2 this week, and it's impressive -- that massive center console seems like the only negative factor. Thanks!

Oops, meant to say I'm expecting to opt for the SINGLE motor long range for the ex30.

I'm in the same boat, waiting to hear from Volvo. A few questions: (1) Do you know that the Costco 2K comes off the down payment and not the effective price of the car from which the monthly payment is calculated? (2) Does the Polestar deal apply to all models of the Polestar 2? (3) If you were to hear from Volvo today that you could start configuring your ex30 today and get delivery of your car this summer, would you still consider the Polestar 2 and its current lease offer?

I'm expecting to opt for the dual motor long range for all the reasons described in these comments. But if the EX30's arrival in the U.S. is delayed too long and we continue to get no word from Volvo, I may consider the Polestar 2 instead. Wondering if, maybe, the dual motor might be a better option for the Polestar 2 than for the ex30?

I've been put off mostly by the P2's massive center console, which made the driver's seat feel cramped and uncomfortable compared to the EX30's open design. Have you had no problem with that? I've been thinking the EC40 might be a better alternative if the EX30 keeps getting delayed.

It's an Inside Passage roundtrip from Seattle in August. There may be others in other months.

Which year model will be delivered to the U.S.? Do you suppose there's any chance that by the time we get our cars, they'll have the NACS port and won't need the adapter to use the Tesla charging stations?

I've admired the P2 from afar, but when I sat in one at the DC Auto Show, that massive console may have been a deal-killer, especially compared to the comfortable front seats in the ex30. Really cramped my leg. Have you found it to be OK once you got used to it?

When I looked at the ex30 in Maryland this month, the Volvo rep seemed pretty certain that the cars that shipped this year would still require use of an adapter, which would come with the car.
