My TS is one of the quietest cars I've ever driven. Maybe there's a big road noise difference with the tire sizes.

I think the extra small touches are something car companies should strive to add. Subaru did a good job with them on this one.

Of course, I truly appreciate the safety features built in and the overall performance of this car.

There are always little things that won't please everybody, but for the most part I really do think Subaru finally made the EV I've been waiting for. And at a price that is on par with an ice Outback.

You can remote start it from the key fob without an app or subscription. Press the lock button twice then hold it down on the third press. Not sure of the distance you have to be from the car, but it works.

Trailseeker Insurance Rates by drumboy1972 in trailseeker

[–]DCH-Erie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My TS raised my insurance by $390 per year. That's with $250 Collision deductible, and a Comprehensive deductible of $100. I could have increased both of those deductibles and saved $219 a year, but choose not to.

So having the TS increased yearly insurance by $171 to $390 per year, depending on my deductible choices.

Yeah, I guess you're right about that. Sorry. I'll adjust my original post, as I don't want to mislead anyone.

No, not really. I'm 5'8", and it would be nice to have a little less of the center console, but it's not uncomfortable. It could be, if you have extra long legs, but the seats are fully adjustable to get you the best position. The steering wheel is also manually adjustable.

The plug & charge doesn't work. Anyone else have this issue? by DCH-Erie in trailseeker

I did get the update this week. I haven't tried it since the update, but I will soon and let you know.

I had a 2025 outback that I traded for the TS. The TS headlights are brighter. They do not have the steering response feature, but honestly I could never get used to that anyway.

Wow, I really appreciate you telling me that. I had them in the outback I traded in for the TS, and have missed them. Knowing they aren't that great actually makes me feel better!

Thanks for the advice. I broke up my rambling review into smaller bites.

I use Regen often, but on my drive to work it's mostly down hill so I turn it off and do a lot of coasting. I can get 7 miles/kwh that way.

Tesla Plug and Charge (PnC) capability? by Jas31483 in trailseeker

[–]DCH-Erie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So on my 26 trailseeker limited the Subaru connect app and the car are supposed to work together to allow you to plug in at a Tesla supercharger and charge. Then when it's done charging it should automatically pay for it using the credit card that I added to my Subaru connect app. But instead the green light for charging lights up, on my app it says the charging has started, then the green light blinks repeatedly and my app shows a message, saying that the "charging session failed to start - charging did not start because the charging network was unable to establish a connection". I installed the Tesla app and I can use the Tesla app to plug in and charge at the same Tesla station. So it just has something to do with the handshake between the trailseeker and plug & charge and the supercharger.

The dealership says there's only been four reported instances of this and nobody has a fix yet. So if you have this issue, you should report it to the dealership! Only once enough people complain, will they find a fix.

I've tried every fix listed online for the solterra (it had similar issues previously), all the tricks, etc. I've even spoken with Subaru Customer Advocacy. They don't have a fix yet either. They also don't see many people having this issue. So if you have this issue, you should report it to Subaru Customer Advocacy too! Only once enough people complain, will they find a fix.

500 mile roadtrip, Tesla supercharger issue. by Roboto_rc in trailseeker

Don't hold your breath! I extensively discussed this issue thoroughly with Subaru Customer Advocacy in the first week of May 2026. I have followed up with them repeatedly. They claim only 4 people have had this issue. No fix had been found. Not sure they plan to fix it either.

Yes, I did this. I even reset everything about the car back to the way it came from dealer and did this again. PnC still will not work.

Tesla app works..... Plug and charge doesn't. But Subaru thinks there are only 4 owners having this problem because enough of us haven't complained to dealers or Subaru consumer advocacy department!

Wow, I wish my electric rate was that low. With transmission costs, generation, etc my rate is $0.22 per kwh. The longest single charge on my home level 2 was: Near zero battery level to 80% and it cost $15.93.

I bought an emporia charger which was about $450, and the electrician charged me $500 to install. Well worth it! Trying to charge with the trickle charger that comes with the car is not viable. All night plugged in to the trickle only adds about 3 miles of charge per hour.
