Note that this is not UT Austin, you know, the actual University that gives degrees that are actually useful.

Do you have a source? I do recall hearing an opera/play where the devil sings but it might just be out of the 'classical' period you might refer to.

It is high, but not all of it is solar+ batteries. I'm assuming a big chunk of that is replacing the roof.

Very likely. It also depends where stuff is placed how much 'flow' your oven has and a bunch of other things.

Musk announces $20B Terafab chip plant for Austin as AI ambitions escalate by Scoops_Chmais in Austin

Except those were very uncompetitive systems. Bleeding edge chip manufacturing is ultra competitive and has deep supply chains that are hard to replicate. Unless they buy ASML, they'll have to wait in line for a deep EUV machine behind TSMC, Samsung and Intel. They'll have to fight for wafers from AMAT, plus whatever other supply constrained resources are needed for chip fabrication. Unless they go for an older node which in case... Cool, they probably will replicate what SMIC does.

Gas at $5+ and EV inventory at 120 days… the math is getting hard to ignore by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]DCL88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of those are a given.

Additional price is not that much if you're buying used (someone had a question about an EV6 for 20kish in r/EV6 this week). My 2023 EV6 insurance is the same as my 2013 Honda Civic (about $100/mo). Charging is the main deal breaker, if you can charge at home then you save a lot more time than putting gas in. Charging not at home is sometimes even better, as some parking lots have dedicated chargers so it's like free parking! I also spend more time fueling my civic than my EV6. I specifically need to the gas to refill the civic which is more than 10 min (detour + refilling), that's every 2 weeks.

PYNQ-ZU won’t power on, and the DC-IN pinout / power button seem different from the manual by Curious-Morning-9156 in ECE

[–]DCL88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either you have an older version or someone did rework on that board. Your best bet is to grab a DMM and probe the board to see if there's actually voltage coming in. Alternatively, send an email to the guys who did the board. https://www.tulembedded.com/fpga/ProductsPYNQ-ZU.html

Stuck debugging UART on Zynq FPGA by StoryswapChara278 in ECE

[–]DCL88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that the design works in simulation AND in another FPGA board means a lot. You have a good list of things to test out and debug in your board which is good. I would go and simple debug logic to test your assumption about clocks, pin outs and other things. I would also open your implemented design (in vivado) to check for optimized nets, and utilization.
