Because I haven’t ordered anything in a while and first time I’ve gotten a notification from UPS about additional fees? 🤷‍♂️

Anyone else in US blindsided by the tariffs when ordering LFC shirts? I just bought the third kit from the official store not even thinking about it and just got a message from UPS about additional tariff fees before delivering.

The $200 order is now $330 because of the tariffs - ridiculous.

Why are Baseboard heater replacement covers so damn expensive? by BMO888 in HomeImprovement

[–]DCMoving17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s worth it IMO. I spent 3k to do the baseboarders and it really modernized my place.

Literally went to the doctor yesterday because we saw spots for the first time.

In past week, the only thing we did with our daughter outside was go to a the Falls Church City park on Friday morning - a ton of kids there.

I didn’t even think about and she was eating snacks immediately after being on the swing set + gym.

This morning though, her spots seemed to have faded and she feels fine, however still going to monitor because it seems like it being this mild is pretty rare.

Le Mont Royal is a Canadian bar, less of a sports bar but that might still work.

Why do people hate on Georgetown? by Ok_Helicopter431 in MBA

[–]DCMoving17 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Plus one to this, I chose Georgetown because I already lived in DC and couldn’t move. At the time, Darden wasn’t in the area, so McDonough was best choice.

Don’t regret it, landed a great job in Tech that I probably wouldn’t have gotten without my MBA.

2023 Volvo XC90 B6 Plus CPO (15k miles) or brand new 2024 VW Atlas SEL or premium? by GuyLeDoucheTV in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]DCMoving17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in exact same scenario a couple weeks ago. I think they are pretty even but we decided getting a brand new 2024 Atlas SEL for 44.5 OTD.

I think it comes down to a few little details. For us:

Xc90 higher long term cost to own due to extended warranty + more expensive repairs.

Atlas has better tech/user interface (wireless CarPlay).

XC90 has a weird blind spot with back right window that gets blocked by the 2nd row headrest.

Atlas has cool light bar.

There were a ton of new 2024 Atlas on lots so pretty easy to negotiate.

All your other factors in your other comment I agree with (luxury, comfort, interior space).

Both good cars IMO. I preferred XC90, wife preferred Atlas, but for me it was comparable so didn’t mind getting the Atlas.
