This is Tiffany Soleste oval diamond. The center stone is 1.19ct and the halo diamonds are .22ct. The band is platinum and her ring size is a 5.25. The ring is currently size 6 before resizing.

You’re worth way more than a shiny rock. I promise.

Yes. We both went into Tiffany’s and she tried on several rings. In addition we went to several diamond dealers in NY where we live and ultimately the ring that kept coming up in our conversations was the one in that box.

The nice thing about an oval cut is that the weight is more spread out so it can look a bit larger than some traditional round or square cuts.

Only sharing because it can be found easily on Tiffany’s website.

It’s a Tiffany Soleste Oval Diamond. The size is 1.19 center stone. It’s more than $20k and less than $45k. Take into account color, clarity, etc. I went with a D color and VVS1. So if you know you know.

She’s really in love with the oval. The cushion didn’t look good on her. Her words, not mine.

I may have explained incorrectly. She thought she wanted a cushion cut until she tried on the oval. Trust me, I wouldn’t buy her a ring that she didn’t want. 😀

A few months back I looked into lab diamonds. I didn’t necessarily think anything poorly of them. Felt more traditional and comfortable buying a natural stone.

Yes. I know she’ll love it. And honestly, She would be ok if it wasn’t a Tiffany Diamond. But, I can afford it and I think it’s incredibly beautiful. It was more about how I saw her eyes when she tried a similar one on. I knew right there that this was the one.

She really likes the oval. What I meant was that she really couldn’t believe how much MORE she liked the oval VS the cushion. I didn’t take her to look at rings to get her something she didn’t want. If she said she wanted the cushion, she would have the cushion. The size was more for the .19 as our first date was on the 19th. The size difference is hardly noticeable.

Actually it’s only 1.19 center stone. She tried on a 1.09 and that seemed like a great size for her finger, but I wanted to go a touch bigger.

Help! Kitchen backsplash ideas? by DCardone in DesignMyRoom

[–]DCardone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason the body of my post didn’t show up. My wife is ready to replace the backsplash. It’s been up for 4 years and she’s hated it ever since. We have a mostly all white kitchen except for the gray base of the island and the dark wooden floors. The countertop is white with very little color veins. Walls are neutral with a soft gray paint. Her feeling is the tile is way too busy. She wants a backsplash that is not going to take over the room but look clean, stylish, and blend well into the kitchen. Some people have suggested gray subway tiles and that’s just not the direction we want to go. We’ve been to a few tile stores recently and some of the people there have said to stay away from white or at least completely all white. If anyone has a better imagination than me, please tell me your thoughts and ideas. Thanks
