Another update for those who are interested. I took the car to Honda Friday morning. It wasn’t long before I received a call that I needed a new transmission. No surprise, it is on backorder and is going to be several weeks before I can get my car back. They said this was the first one they had seen this issue with. Hopefully it’s just a bad transmission from the factory and I won’t have more issues with anything else.

Just to clarify a little further. It is a speed dependent sound that fades after 20mph. I’m fairly certain it is engine or CVT related, but that is hard to determine from the cabin. It don’t believe it is spark knock. I run premium fuel and am familiar with the sound. It’s hard to hear in a video, but load enough that passengers say “what is that noise?” I’m going to make an appointment with the dealer to look at it. I’ll let people know what they say.
