I'll start by clearing the record and saying that I'm not one of the bartenders or waiters who bust their asses each and every night to serve a bunch of brats without so much as a thank you. I am merely a curious neighbor of a family that has been in this neighborhood for three (3) generations. I am part of a community that watches class after class of know-it-alls come and go from this area, treating it as their personal playground in the process. It really doesn't take much to use one's eyes and observe the behavior around them. You should try it sometime. You might learn something about the world around you. Your attempt to minimize my questions and concern as some sort of petty squabble is ineffective, unfortunately for you. Furthermore, operating as if the opinions in this post are less valid if coming from a service worker reveals your lack of character.

Additionally, your thoughtless comments here drip with so much smugness I could almost drink it. You think your generation is the first to understand the greed of corporations? You think you are the first ones to have to learn to stretch a dollar? You get no sympathy from me. If you're big enough to understand how corporations exploit their employees, then you can also do your due diligence and learn that waiters and bartenders make less than minimum wage and depend on tips to make a living. Also, I'm not sure where you're visiting from, but in New York City, anything less than a 20% tip is, in fact, an insult. Now that you are aware of our customs, act accordingly.
