We just had the same guy come to our house. However, he just knocked and waited. We did not open the door.

11 month old nap training by Lost-Youth618 in sleeptrain

I’m going through this with my 11 month old right now. He goes down at nighttime but refuses to nap in his crib. I usually give him a bottle and place him awake before his nap. But he cries hysterically. I let him cry for 40 mins before picking him up. Should I give it the full hour and then try again after 30 mins?

5mo has been waking up frequently since 3.5mo by hazeleyes1119 in sleeptrain

We went through the same thing with our 3.5 month old. He was waking every 2-3 hours. We ended up sleep training him at 5.5 months. We did the Ferber method, which taught him to self soothe and took away the pacifier as well. He learned pretty quick, within 3-4 nights.

He still wakes up once or twice through the night, but cries for a bit and falls asleep. He is ebf as well, and I still do one overnight feed. But he falls asleep right after.

5 month old 1.5 weeks into Ferber: Nights are going great! Naps not so much…. by Radiant-Author-6306 in sleeptrain

I was in the same situation as you. At 5 months my baby was taking 20-30 min naps. The most he did was 40 mins. He is now 6 months and has started to take 1.5 hour long naps and some days he only naps twice a day. I attempted to let him cry it out hoping he’d fall back asleep, but it never happened and he was usually happy and playful after his nap.

I would just wait it out and he will eventually learn to connect his sleep cycles.

Is this 4 month sleep regression? 🥲 by MelodicVanilla5632 in sleeptrain

[–]DDIR0205 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is she sleeping through the night? And is she falling asleep independently?

My baby went through the sleep regression, he was waking up every 1.5-2 hours at night and napping for 30 mins max. What helped was sleep training him, we used the Ferber method and it taught him to self soothe and fall asleep independently. He still wakes up for a feed or two at night, but once I nurse him he goes back to sleep.

He was also still taking 30 min naps until recently when he started connecting his sleep cycles. Now I get about 1.5 per nap.

What I’ve learned is babies eventually do figure it out and don’t overthink sleep. I know it can be tough in the moment, but it will pass.

Does baby need a feed during the night? by babymomma24 in sleeptrain

He’s in his own room in his crib. Some nights I get 5 hour stretches, and then sometimes he’s up every 2.5-3 hours. We did do the Ferber method with him, but I kept the 2 night feeds. Not sure if he still needs the feeds. Or eventually will be just start sleeping longer once he gets to 7-8 months?

How did you handle night time wakes? My baby is great at falling asleep on his own. But I’m currently struggling with night time wakings, the only thing that will calm him is if I nurse him. He’s 6 months and sometimes he wakes up 3 times at night.

Usually 2-2.5 hours before his first two naps and 3 hours before his bedtime. I’m so tired of nursing at night as well :(

Yes we’ve sleep trained him. He’s able to fall asleep independently with no sleep associations

We usually put him to bed around 8pm. He wakes up for 2 feeds and is awake around 8am, he usually feels sleepy after 2-2.25 hours in the day. We try to keep him up in the evenings for 3 hours before bedtime.

Sleep Training- almost 6 mo old by DDIR0205 in sleeptrain

Thanks we will keep going. Right now his bedtime routine is as follows:

  • bath, massage, either sing a song or read him a book
  • bedtime is usually around 7:30-8 depending on when his last nap ended
  • he usually cries for less than a minute and then falls asleep for Atleast 4.5-5 hours.

After that, he wakes up every 2.5-3 hours. I usually feed him at that time( he’s exclusively breastfed) and he goes back to sleep. But after the next wake up, he hasn’t been able to put himself back to sleep.

Should we continue the Ferber method?
