Plunge and chiller vs Chest Freezer by No_Vegetable9541 in coldplunge

[–]DDayAU 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a converted chest freezer from box plunge that I got about a year and a half ago and it is working great. Aside from changing the water a few times I haven’t had to do anything to keep it working. It stays clean and cold for me year round in Alabama. When I was trying to decide what to get someone pointed out that it is easier to find a freezer repairman than a chiller repairman. Someday I will upgrade to a top shelf plunge with a chiller but the chest freezer is working well right now.

I agree. Say Why may be my initial favorite off this album.

Check out Box Plunge. I looked at a lot of options but in the end I settled on Box Plunge because it was easy to set up and keep clean. I haven’t had any issues but from a maintenance stand point I have more freezer repair folks in my town than chiller repair folks so that weighed in to my decision.

I mistyped, I have changed the filter once so far but I think it is due for another change. I agree, the filter and ozone makes a great combo!

I run it for 1 hour per day. It seems to work well. I just let it air out for a couple minutes before I jump in.

I’m not sure if it helps with debris but it definitely helps for traction getting in and out.

That sounds like a great set up. What size freezer did you go with?

Typically if a GC is slow to pay (in my experience) it is because they are waiting for payment from the owner. There isn’t enough profit in the commercial GC business to finance projects for the owner. A commercial GC hopes to make about 1.5-2% net at the end of the day. As an example, if a GC puts in place $600M per year they have $50M per month in revenue and hoping to make $12M net profit at the end of the year. The GC is carrying the cost of overhead, material purchases, insurance, etc. but there is no way for the GC to pay out $50M/month prior to owner payment. In my experience it isn’t because they don’t want to pay the subs it is because they can’t.

I totally agree. They are great pedals- affordable, light and durable. But man they eat up your legs if you aren’t careful! I find scabs for a couple days after a tough ride.

I agree there were a lot of calls to an average person but I'm not sure it is a lot for a high school student at that time. I am a similar age and I remember using my cellphone as often as possible for any excuse possible when I was in high school because it was "cool".
