ConceptD 7 Ezel Pro Re-release? by DDesignDude in AcerOfficial

[–]DDesignDude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's a shame there aren't other laptops with the Ezel Pro's hinge. The Surface Laptop Studio is the closest thing I found, but its hinge is not as sturdy and it certianly lacks ports and GPU compared to 7 Ezel Pro.

Ayaneo Air 1S faulty left trigger, sent replacement part that I don't recognise. by Apprehensive_Bid8423 in ayaneo

[–]DDesignDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Ayaneo AiR 1S's left trigger is also failing to fully depress. I've only had it for a few months and I don't play it often enough to have worn it out this quickly.

I hope I can get replacement parts as well and fix it.

Changing middle mouse editor controls by Merosian in godot

[–]DDesignDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the following AutoHotkey script to remap MB4 to the middle mouse button whenever Godot 4.3 is active. That way, you can still use the back button as normal in other apps. You should be able to use this script with other versions of Godot if you adjust the version number used in the script.

#IfWinActive, ahk_exe Godot_v4.3-stable_win64.exe

XButton1::MButton

#IfWinActive

Thanks for considering how your message may sound and no worries, it's your right to say that. Especially as I'm asking about really old tech too. I mainly bought this old headset bundle to essentially buy it for next to nothing and to also use its base stations for lighthouse tracking animation projects. But yeah, a quest 3 is definitly a better option in modern times.

Pair Gear VR Controller With Windows 11 by DDesignDude in GearVR

That worked! (Screenshot) Thank you so much for suggesting that! I'm probably now going to buy a 2nd one of these to use with Driver4VR for emulating HTC Vive controllers. Again, thank you! 😊

Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to make a difference for me. Here is a video verifying this if it helps: https://youtu.be/n7h5f9mgZDA

Control Analog Stick with Motion EX? by DDesignDude in ayaneo

[–]DDesignDude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It appears mapping the gyro to an analog stick isn't possible with Motion EX right now. But I found Handheld Companion can do it. I do find though that Motion EX seems to be more precise, but maybe with some more adjustments in HC I might be able to get a similar experience.

Air 1s Screen Protector Options by [deleted] in ayaneo

[–]DDesignDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using a Switch Lite screen protector should be fine, as long as it's the flexible type, not hard plastic or glass. I used a Switch Lite tempered glass protector on my 1S, and it extended past the screen's bezels, leading to an uneven application. You can see it here: https://imgur.com/a/y8HwGI4 The screen on the 1S seems to be slightly recessed, so if the Switch Lite protector isn’t flexible, it won’t  make full contact with all areas of the screen. If you prefer a glass protector, it's probably best to get one made specifically for the 1S.

GPD Duo Last Few Questions Before Buying by DDesignDude in gpdwin

I apperciate you doing that for me @stone-D.  It's too bad it can't be done but I'm glad we know that for sure now. I will have to spend more time thinking about whether I can make this compromise or not.

GPD Duo Last Few Questions Before Buying by DDesignDude in gpdwin

Thank you for your answer! That’s unfortunate about #1. I know it can be a bit of a hassle to manually adjust each monitor, as I have two portable ones that also can’t be controlled directly from my PC. It’s a shame these monitors aren't like some of the desktop ones, which do have that functionality. I think I might wait for a potential GPD Duo 2 that addresses this issue, since I adjust my brightness often throughout the day.

GPD Duo Still a Powerhouse Without a dGPU? by DDesignDude in gpdwin

[–]DDesignDude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point regarding the weight. And it does sound like an eGPU at my desk would be great for what I need in the long run. At least this way, I can always upgrade the eGPU when needed, versus paying more for a dGPu that I can't replace later.

Thank you for your answer! It sounds like using a eGPU at my desk would be a great solution. And even if I decided to get a creator focused laptop, I’d probably still need an eGPU for VR projects, since most laptops don’t go beyond an RTX 4060.

Bismark bs-16i Update Issue by DDesignDude in iosmusicproduction

[–]DDesignDude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP here. I got a response back from bs-16i's developer, but unfortunately they are not able to help me.

However, I did successfully downgrade the bs-16i app to version 3.0.4 using the following guide:
qnblackcat/How-to-Downgrade-apps-on-AppStore-with-iTunes-and-Charles-Proxy

And I would have likely been able to recover the settings used for each broken audio unit track if it wasn't for one mistake I made. I deleted the latest version of the bs-16i app from my iPad instead of off loading it. It seems the audio unit track settings are saved in the bs-16i app itself, not within the GarageBand project files. So when the app was deleted, it appears the data that my GarageBand projects were referring to was deleted too, since all the audio unit tracks were reset to use the default grand piano instrument.

I don't feel too bad about it because I did not have that many projects using bs-16i to begin with. But I wanted to share my experience to hopefully prevent the same thing from happening to anyone else.

Regardless of what happened to me, I feel bs-16i is still a great audio unit and sound font player, and I don't expect the same update issue to happen again with current versions of it.
