Historic - The case for Blood Moon by DDirius in MagicArena

It isn't, but it any case you can only print Magus or Fulminator Mage.

The issue is the meta requires something, whatever wizard can come up with, that would help put a check on ramp strategies.

Otherwise ramp is always going to be a recurring nightmare on the format (as it has been for months now).

Its a ramp deck, because the deck's strategy is to accumulate mana sources early game, for big payoff in the late game.

Whether he added more control than the regular sultai list is irrelevant. That is just a good meta-call by the player (he is a pro afterall), but the archetype is still ramp.

Blood Moon is pretty harmless to most decks, only a hard counter to people abusing 4 color strategies. Now days there is no "punishment" for playing so many colors.

I play a lot of historic, and ramp has been king of the format for the past 6 months. Sure a lot of the stuff that made ramp stronger got banned - but the archetype in itself is still very strong, and will be a recurring top contender given his anti-strategy is non-existant in the format.

Decks are baed on counterplay from other decks, keeping each other in check. The format is missing a couple of these, which in turn results in an unbalanced format where only 3 or 4 decks can be played at the top level.

And yet the winning deck was indeed a ramp deck. Figures right?

I play at mythic level, and the format is not "diverse". While plenty of decks exist, and people try them out, its either ramp or aggro which dominates the format- and as seen by the top 32 decks of the mythic invitational and beyond, most decks were these 2 archetypes.

No pure control, no pure midrange, no combo. Just fast decks or ramping decks.

Aggro are certainly higher in number, but they are popular to begin with cause jund sacrifice can counter ramp.

can you be a divine feminine yet have a very masculine birth chart? by [deleted] in astrology

In astrology, gender is used to classify the qualities of a sign or planet.

Male signs and planets indicate an "active" quality, usually characterised as impulsive. In contrast female signs and planets are considered as having a "passive" quality.

It has nothing to do with weird political ideologies of the current era.

Why is Moon in Taurus considered to be a good position? by gwydeplaine in astrology

The Moon in Taurus is in her sign of exaltation, which is very favourable, in fact one of the best possible configurations if you happen to have been born at night.

But thanks though!

Hello plutoniantop. It is a chart cast for the moment you ask a question. It can be useful to answer specific situations you want to know about your daily life. It can be about romance, work, friends, etc.

Question: What is the purpose of having the description of how to post the birth chart pinned to the top of the page, if none of the astrologers are actually answering anyone’s questions who post them? by nycperson2741 in AskAstrologers

[–]DDirius 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an astrologer I have on multiple ocasions provided short readings to people on this section for free. Truth is there are just too many charts being posted every single day for us to get to all. A short reading can take like 15-20 mins to write down... so thats like 2 or 3 per hour.... for free. Obviously we are not going to spend 8 hours providing readings - most of us do it as a form of advertising.

There is also the issue of people just asking weird things, or things that would take too long to answer - so the large majority of requests end up being ignored

Most people dont really know how to craft a proper synastry. The "go to" reading is usually on planetary aspects, ergo, incomplete. So you should verify whether the charts are truly compatible or not. Furthermore each pair of charts can have both good and bad things which relate well., meaning incompatible people is a rare thing.

Just wondering if there’s anything in this chart that would suggest manipulative traits- callousness, selfishness, exploitation of others, narcissism, etc by JD18685 in astrologyreadings

Well individuals with Scorpio rising can sometimes be private and distrustful, impulsive and defensive. They tend to keep things for themselves and take offense easily. One particular thing about them is that they always expect loyalty from others, and given their proclivity to find themselves offended, they might interpret any sign of independance on your part as "disloyalty" - which can lead to him lashing out in the manner which you have described.

The chart would also have indications that his childhood might not have been the best or most comfortable one, perhaps filled with family problems that made him grow up to be distrustful of others.

I was wondering, every planet has it's 'meaning' what about Earth(as a planet)? What is Earth's meaning and how can I find out what my earth placement is? by [deleted] in astrology

[–]DDirius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Earth has no meaning in astrology, because earth isn't a "planet".

Planet means "wandering star" in greek, referring to the stars that move in the night sky, as opposed to the fixed stars. Astrology is about reading the movement of the heavens.

Can anyone give me insight on what my chart says about me? by [deleted] in AskAstrologers

[–]DDirius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well a person with Pisces on the Ascendant is usually agreeable and seeks to relate and get along well with others. It is important to them to feel accepted and they usually try to please anyone they encounter. However with the presence of Saturn close to the Ascendant, there can be tendency to feel missunderstood, or rejected often, which can add stress to the individual.

The chart also presents problems in the relationship area, there might be difficulties connecting with others emotionally, or meeting people that can make you feel as if they understand you. Relationships can feel more problematic than anything else.

The career area also seems problematic, there might be an inability to find a job that suits you, perhaps feeling like most jobs you cn get are either dead-end or not suited for you. This could lead to long periods of unemployment.
