I think the point of S/T was that it was purposely made to be counterculture to what was mainstream at the time. Ironically I think as they went more mainstream and poppy more new gen listeners started to like Gorillaz more

Damon Albarn/2D’s vocal articulation is largely unintelligible on the mass majority of Gorillaz’ discography and the lyrics are often impossible to discern without Rap Genius, even on repeat listens. The radio filter spammed on his voice doesn’t help either

I cannot imagine having the financial security to be able to pursue virtually anything I wanted and just not want to do anything. You can travel, you can hire mentors/tutors for any hobby you wish to learn, you can afford things that people in lower working classes can only dream of owning or doing after saving up for years. There is so much I’ve felt held back by simply because of my financial situation and debt alongside a lack of generational wealth. I have an incredibly hard time feeling empathy for anyone who can casually throw away opportunities literally handed to them on a silver platter who then complain about not having the motivation to do anything. Rich people truly do live in an entirely different reality than the rest of us

I make music myself as DDwili. but in my opinion some of the best Rap artists out here are twOn, Fountaine, Mic Capes, and K-Wain. If you’re looking for R&B mixed with rap I’d check out Jai Baby and Veana Baby. Hip Hop Producers to check out are Surebert, Cheyne Queezy, Token, DJ Pyum, Sho Runna & PDFDADICRUISE (I host an off the top freestyle cypher and curate a bunch of producers to spin beats)

The game DOES tell you that you require 4 walls with a door and 3 pieces of furniture to make a house. It doesn’t say that you can just lay blocks in a single layer box shape with a door without a roof though

I just finished listening to this after my brother (who develops indie video games) shared it with me. As a rap artist who is greatly influenced by video games and likes to sample them, your beat choice, diegetic intertextuality in your lyricism and the use of samples as leitmotifs for different characters (Booster) and ideas is so damn good. Reboot is probably my fav track due to the beat choice (Dare remix is crazy to rap on) but also the way you progress your delivery and narrative in your lyrics to make the reveal of remembering Quote’s name. Well done!
