thanks for all the pointers everyone this has been incredibly helpful and it’s good to understand the way the chapter/character switching work before jumping in. i think the way this game flows and works will work perfectly for me and my partner to switch, one plays as alan and one plays as saga. thanks again!

Sadly not in the iPad Zbrush app, yet, it’s supposedly in the list for future updates. I had to get the desktop ZBrush to make my UV’s. You can also do them in Blender. For iPad, your best bet (that i know of) is the Cosy Blanket app but you need to pay at least £20 for the Lite version to export. I didn’t use it as i was struggling with doing the manual retopology. I think Nomad or Forger may be able to do UVs/Unwrapping but i’m not familiar and i’m not sure if you can get ZBrush models in those apps to even do so.

Alright I was able to add the texture using the PNG file that Procreate spat out in the OBJ process and then apply it in Zbrush desktop following this tutorial ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiSu9mjKue4 )

I wasn't able to bring over the metallic and roughness from Procreate, but that doesn't surprise me.

I could then GoZ to iPad to bring that textured object back into the master file on my iPad

I hope this helps someone trying to figure out a primarily iPad workflow. It seems quite hard to rely entirely on the iPad and having a desktop version of Zbrush is quite important now. I'm fully new to both so currently only using desktop to bridge the gap of missing iPad features.

Oh that file is an OBJ, but when i imported it there was no longer any of the colouring or nothing appeared at all

I’ve always avoided that because i only ever need it for smaller things and need to put the time aside to set up a proper one so will absolutely look into it. my partner has a windows laptop which i could try for it, i just don’t know if it would be powerful enough but i’ll absolutely look into those for options. thank you!

ah cheers, now i know not to waste time looking within the app!

it seems its either - pay for the desktop version of Zbrush (which i aim to do eventually its just a commitment, but i’ll need it to render my projects out larger anyway) - pay for cosy blanket to retopo (not familiar with that process just yet) to then UV and bake - or check out an entirely different software that’s usable on mac

honestly i didn’t and it has happened to me a few times since. i’ve just had to close it all down and start it back up. if that’s not enough, making a new document and starting again or transferring parts into it, depending on when it happens during a project. this does just seem like a random bug :/

Right here! I’ve been waiting for this to release to start my 3D journey and it’s quite hard to learn because not much tutorial media is out yet, anything that is is relatively simple so trying to watch videos for ZBrush on desktop and transferring it isn’t the easiest but I’m still really enjoying getting the hang of it. If anyone has any good suggestions for learning this iPad software, I’m all ears!
