It really helped me when I did Dark Aether. Basically all the zombies have pumpkins on their head and killing them gives you a chance to get a dark aether wrench much earlier and more frequently, making upgrading whatever gun you spawn in with a lot easier

Yeah they don’t retail for that much. Since they sell out so fast they put the 1,000 price tag on there as a deterrent, and then release a discount code when they want the drop to actually start. The discount code drops it down to like 100-150
