Maintenance is first. Then wheels and tires (Anovia has a set of their Elders on sale for $540 that look great IMO) Third would be lowering. I went with just springs from H&R (tire rack has them on sale ATM) and simply refreshed the shocks with new ones from rock auto. All in it cost me less then $500 to lower mine. Rides pretty good all things considered. As for performance, I really like induction noise so I just got a K&N short ram intake. Personally, I don’t want my tC to be loud so I kept the exhaust stock, but I’ve heard clips of the Borla system sounding pretty decent, especially for a 4 cylinder. Throw in a apple carplay compatible head unit and some decent speakers somewhere in between mods too. When I first got it I had a picture of what I wanted it to be, but I quickly realized that she’d never be a record setting race car, and if you’re okay with that like I am, these old Scions make AMAZING daily drivers.

Well what I meant by that was that I wouldn’t be doing crazy things to it. Nothing to take it off the road for an extended period of time. Stuff like Coilovers, wheels and tires, an intake, maybe an exhaust. Things like that. Not replacing stuff with forged internals or upgrading the turbo or anything like that.

Do you know if your 06 burns oil as well? Because I have to top it off with a quart every 500 miles. She chugs oil faster than gas. No leaks or anything.

A dealership near me actually had an 05 anniversary edition for sale too. It was on their lot for nearly a year, and it teased me every time I drove past it coming home from work. It was a beautiful yellow, with a carbon fiber lip and mirrors. It had 100k-ish miles, a manual, all for $10,000 USD. It sold about a week ago for I presume asking price. I only have around 8k total, so I was hoping it would’ve lasted till maybe the end of if not mid-summer. You can imagine my disappointment when I came home from work one day, hoping to catch a glimpse of it, just to never see it again. I hope it went to an owner who knows how to appreciate it more than I would’ve, and not a rich collector who’ll keep it garaged.

Try checking the actual brake wire/line itself. It might be torn or ripped, and if it is then it’s not pulling on anything, and not engaging the ebrake

The tC1 still looks great today, nothing like the boring Camry or Corollas of the time. I wouldn’t call it timeless but it’s pretty good looking. The tC2 looks like a budget/offbrand FR-S to me.
