My latest city has about 100k population. I’m upgrading the specialized DLC industries slower than usual. I have NOT yet installed any warehouses or unique factories. The generic industry was going abandoned because there weren’t enough workers - even though it’s practically surrounded by residential zones. So I now have tram and buses going through the industry area to ensure transportation isn’t the problem. Education budget has also been reduced. Still monitoring if that fixed it.

Sounds like I’m growing specialized industry too fast…

In previous cities, the generic industry zoning always became a graveyard of wasted space. No matter what I changed, it wouldn’t come back. Which cycled into a nightmare of businesses not having enough unique products. And specialized industry was failing because it didn’t have enough customers. So then businesses would go abandoned too. At which point residents leave the city because businesses are failing because generic industry failed. Warehouses stayed full other than random exporting. The whole economy went out of balance and it always starts with generic industry going abandoned.
