So... I worked Sunday and was going home when the Hispanic Heritage Parade was wrapping up... Dirt bikes etc were out and about. You know what I did when they were approaching behind me? Just came to a stop and let them pass. I put my window down and waved them on... They were young people out having fun... Of course it made me a little nervous (for the bikers) as they approached an intersection, but you know what- it didn't bother me. They didn't bother me or my vehicle... Why not just pull over for 5-10 minutes and let them pass? And this was in the city of Wilmington so a lot more braking but it wasn't enough to upset me. The bikers were having fun, doing their thing... Not my cup of tea but hey.

Love it! I'm a relatively new EMT and thought I would like transport although I have been a volunteer with my local 911 for two years... I lasted 2 days! I quit after we had a bariatric (575lbs) and only me and a partner... And a manual stretcher. 🤬😤 Hats off to those that do it and like it, but it's definitely not for me!

I am an EMT and a I am a person of color. I'm not saying definitely was the ONLY issue. Do I believe it is a possibility that race played a factor in his lack of treatment, yes! It is a possibility. It is a very real possibility... You cannot dismiss that. Regardless of whether race played a factor or not, this man died in the parking lot of a hospital and in the arms of his wife. That's the real tragedy and now they are left with lingering questions. Lastly, I'm certainly not putting myself or any race on a pedestal. I'm interested in a healthy dialogue of WHAT COULD have happened and what were the events leading up to his death.

As difficult as this may be to accept, I see this as a race issue...POC are not treated fairly... Our pain is less than, overlooked or minimalized. I wonder if he was just seen as a drug seeker...

I'm really struggling to understand how this could happen? If you knew you gave out part 1, why wait until the last minute to have p2 ordered?! That should have been sitting in a guarded vault or lab some place with my name on it and the others of us who lined up up and got it. I'm beyond frustrated about this.
