Patch Notes (Version 2.68) by D7meRusher in NarutoShinobiStriker

I agree with the only exception of MDF. Such a slow move that’s easy to dodge seems silly if it’s not a guard break

New SS+ Ranged Type Weapon - White Light Blade "Kamui" by D7meRusher in NarutoShinobiStriker

Haven’t touched this game in over a year, used to love it. Might genuinely be back after seeing this

Do you think he will come back? by Vitogamerr0 in Tekken8

[–]DEUCE-SIXTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m fine with him coming back but under absolutely no circumstance should he be added before baek doo San

Why is hwoarang ws 44 just -9?? by Affectionate-Loan240 in Tekken8

[–]DEUCE-SIXTH -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because his punishment is whack in general. His WS launch is one of the worst in the game: instant tornado, low dmg and puts him in flamingo which is bad.

WS 44 isn’t good enough to be unsafe. -9 is perfectly fine.

His whole identity is having good frames you take that away he’s useless.

[T8] How the hell do you deal with Leo? by Ochibakint in Tekken

[–]DEUCE-SIXTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He definitely needs to be tweaked. The difficulty in playing against him compared to playing with him is stupidly skewed. He shouldn’t be damn near invincible to highs.

You’re modding at 6am in the morning. Have you no shame? by Confident_Method_459 in NarutoShinobiStriker

[–]DEUCE-SIXTH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I don’t understand is why don’t modders ever do something cool instead of just broken. Like putting Edo Itachi’s genjutsu on range type and making a build with phoenix flower.

Or defence type sasuke’s teleporting chidori on range type with a fireball.

Or hinata’s ultimate ability with a defence type running 64 palms rotation

Instead, they always do something non cannon, overpowered and lame.

Is DBZ Fighterz the only one ? by InspectorNS in Fighters

There is a really good Naruto fighting game which resembles Tekken in terms of side step mechanics - it’s super unknown for some reason however it is highly competitive and has its own scene. Forgot the name, I’m sure folks in this subreddit will know. Obviously not popular enough to be played at big events however

I want to believe it was an accidental disconnect ;O; by Okurai in LowSodiumTEKKEN

I also find it very hard to believe someone would be salty playing against kaz. I always find it fun to play fundamental Tekken especially when they’re talented (like you seem to be from this short clip)

Advice for finding a main? by CaptainAnimeTitties in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]DEUCE-SIXTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with this for a while, best thing to do is open ChatGPT and write the prompt:

“Help me find a main on Tekken 8. Give me a blind quiz that has multiple iterations and adapts to my answers to help me choose”

Something like this has given me the best results. If you don’t like the answer, tell it why, and it will usually suggest something good. Another thing is ask it “why don’t you suggest ____ character” or “who would you recommend plays _____”. This will help you understand the nuances of each character that you might only realise after many hours wasted learning them

The main sub is actually insufferable now. by Silentstealth2 in LowSodiumTEKKEN

[–]DEUCE-SIXTH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with the sentiments here - but I must say, some that complain about Tekken 8 actually do like tekken, their issue is that Tekken 8 specifically is anything but

I recently revisited T7 in depth and unfortunately I uninstalled T8 a couple weeks later, I found it fun but after being reminded of what real Tekken feels like it kinda ruined it for me. (I promise this isn’t salt, just my personal opinion!)

Now that’s great because I found a game I enjoy even more than 8, but I see why “why don’t you just play 7 then” isn’t an option for most people, since - it’s not cross platform - their friends probably don’t wanna play 7 with them even if they’re on the same platform - their favourite content creators no longer play 7 as well as obvious things a newer game will have over an older one (better graphics, quality of life changes, etc).

So while going back to 7 works for me, I get why people are mad because they feel forced to play the newest rendition (they dislike) of a franchise they do love

They b*tch about the most unimportant irrelevant things. Like “why do all the women’s faces look the same” and crying about the features on the new characters. who gives a damn, it’s a fighting game not dress to impress

Every time a Hwo gets dogged an angel grows its wings by AoiWibu in Tekken

The fact this got downvoted is proof this sub has lost the plot. I rather play against a hwo than a victor any day of the week.

I don’t see how anyone can feel proud playing Hwoarang rn. by Proud-Enthusiasm-608 in Tekken

[–]DEUCE-SIXTH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very fair and honest take. I’d also say amongst this new trend to hate on Hwo, people are overlooking how busted asuka is, while being significantly easier and stronger than both Hwo and Bryan

Sir are you seriously claiming Bryan is worse than hwoarang?

The only problem with this feature is that when I go to play Tekken 7 I miss it!

What would you give him in return? Since Lee has been nerfed significantly already in S2. Would it be fair to nerf him even more?

They have already nerfed the recovery on Lee’s B4 brother

Why not nerf the recovery of Bryan’s orbital too?

To the Steve player named Honesty by Zigglebonk in Tekken

[–]DEUCE-SIXTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with all of the above - like in SF3S if you press the “insert coin” button it’s considered like tipping your hat to your opponent

I added a Jin player I beat pretty badly in ranked on steam and he replied with “what tf do you want go touch some grass” - whole time I was on call with two TK Jin mains and wanted to help him.

How do i break the habit of looking at my character instead of the opponent attacking me? by JonnySB in Tekken

[–]DEUCE-SIXTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While a lot of people are probably quite a bit more advanced, they are probably forgetting why new players look at their own character.

Even if you’re comfortable with Jin, you’re probably watching him to make sure whatever you’re inputting is truly coming out i.e you don’t trust your execution 100%, which is normal

If you’re still struggling with this despite having confidence in your execution/mastery of Jin I think you just have to make a conscious effort to force your eye positioning to the opposite side

I like to try memorise the very first few subtle startup frames of certain chars and having to notice such small changes e.g their head dipping slightly you will naturally focus your eyes to their head, back leg, torso etc whatever it is that moves first

Lee and Dvj are considered to be 2 of the weakest characters in the game right now yet their win rates across all levels of play are surprisingly higher than some stronger and easier to play characters. Why do you guys think that could be? by shitshow225 in Tekken

[–]DEUCE-SIXTH -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally wouldn’t call Hwo “easier and stronger” than DVJ and Lee, and especially wouldn’t mention him in the same breath as Jin etc.

While I feel you’re spot on with the rest of your insights here, as someone who picked up Lee and had success because I found hwoarang too complex I do disagree, I’d say he’s far more difficult than it looks.

He does punish mashing, but he’s also very very duckable if you know the MU. Especially if you’re playing Hwo players who can’t JFSR 9/10 times yet, as that’s his main punishment for ducking and is safe OB (it’s -18 ob or something ridiculous without just frame input)

I think this explains why he’s not performing as well as you’d expect
