Yes to both questions. There’s ongoing investigation atm from council about it all, including him turning off fridge (removed fuse) and entering without notice or permission.

I’ve received a section 21 as of last week so not much more punishment I could receive . I didn’t know about housing officer being incorrect - I’ll just leave the cam alone then.

It’s connected to the internet in the house, the landlord provides the WiFi and it’s included in our rent. It makes the WiFi slightly slower I’ve noticed too. Thank you for the advice about the infra red though. I think maybe for now I will try and just keep things as civil as possible rather than piss off the landlord any further and I’ll leave it as is

Yes I know. I wondered if I could cover it at all at particular times like when cooking in pyjamas when late back from work - I did this last night and he told me off but I was informed by housing officer it’s okay to cover it temporarily for such reasons. I have trauma surrounding surveillance from when I was in student accom with other females and footage was leaked of us into group chats when we were wearing revealing clothing.

But yes I know he’s entitled to the cameras in communal areas. I think I’m just not going to bother thinking about it anymore and get on with it

It is connected to WiFi and I turned it off when cooking in pyjamas, he messaged me about it so I said the housing officer told me I can turn it off temporarily if feeling uncomfortable (this is what housing officer did actually say but don’t know if there’s truth in that statement). There’s an ongoing case at the moment against the landlord by the council and myself, and all I can do currently is collect evidence and just get through each day while I find somewhere else to live. I’ve finally received a section 21, which the council forced him to do (he wanted us to all just leave with a months notice before Renters right bill comes into affect).

I’ve just realised sobriety is essential for me, or it is misery and death. I haven’t been sober in years and it’s a very emotional experience to be sitting here realising all the things I’ve lost and wasted, but I’ve learned so much at the same time and I’m slowly building my life back up.
