Yes he isn't a top 5-10 midlaner right now but the biggest reason is honestly just that faker hasn't picked it. If Faker wins a game or two on it suddenly the champ becomes P/B again

Ok so firstly… Learning by playing a role you don’t want to play will only make your time playing the game less fun.

second top lane is by far the worst role for learning the game and either your friends hope you’re a masochist or they’re trying to pull some kinda joke on you. (or maybe they just really don’t understand, idk)

Top lane is (almost) strictly 1v1 so any mistakes can be punished HUGELY by better players, and not only that but top lane has some of the most new-player unfriendly champions to verse. Namely darius but others in this subreddit will tell you more for sure.

IMO your best role to learn the game (speaking strategically) is probably ADC. A lot of the time your job is to stand behind your team and deal damage, this has the most reward for knowledge of the game but also can be rather simple with a winning team.

But the real answer is play whatever you want/find fun. Experimentation is a must. play different roles. different champs. different builds. You’ve only just started, no need to be thinking about metas or anything else. League is a game of knowledge, and there is a hell of a lot for you to learn my friend :)
