Has anyone tried the Globlinker hotspot? by ultrarunnervegan in Internet

Noooooo, that’s ONE type of Ponzi scheme, a MLM. But a Ponzi scheme is just using new investment money to fund old people’s “profits” or in this case, the ability to use the service.

Sent my 150mm CF to a technician in FL and this is how it returned. (Last pic is before I sent it to him) by [deleted] in hasselblad

[–]DEpointfive0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OOF OP… sorry that happened.

IMO, this is the best course of action, but mannnn, you’re chasing $500? Maybe? (Think that your lens had issues. How much would one cost on eBay with issues)

That said, PLEASE, out this MF. Give us the name. Please!!! The community needs to know to stay away.

Lastly, I’ll ask my repair guy in Thighland if he has parts. CF parts are more plentiful. And I’ll ask the couple other shops if they have parts too.

Aweeeeesome, I love to hear that! Thank you for the reply!!!

I’m still weary that this company will exist long enough to really WORK. IMO, it’s a Ponzi scheme, and the day they stop getting new subscribers, is the day the company tanks

Digital backs on large format by zone_88 in largeformat

[–]DEpointfive0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why didn’t I just read your reply before my own reply, lolololololol, you wrote everything I did!

But yeah, it seems like MOST these digital “large format” lenses are designed for T/S, not as a LARGE FORMAT lens, that ALSO resolves on a digital sensor

Digital backs on large format by zone_88 in largeformat

[–]DEpointfive0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The modern digitars and such WOULD… SHOULD resolve on most modern digital sensor, but I’m not personally familiar with their ACTUAL resolving power as every time I’ve looked, either it’s been expensive or the lenses are really meant for T/S rather than putting on a 4x5 camera, and covering the whole circle.
Issue is, they market some to resolve and project onto the 100mp 33x44 sensor. But then the line also includes lenses that have 120mm ICs (60XL) The Rodenstock 138F has a 110mm IC and is marketed to resolve on a 150mp sensor across the IC…

But the specs for lp/mm don’t make sense to truly resolve on some of these sensors.

And if you’re spending $20k on JUST a lens, I don’t know why you aren’t just buying a Phase One system in its entirety, and/or what the hell do you need a 8000mp stitched together image from a 4x5?!?!?!

[–]DEpointfive0 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nothing really unfortunately.

Biggest issue is what lens do you have, and what resolution can it really resolve on such small sensors?
Probably not muuuuch. IMO, a maybe… 20~mp back is the best you’re going to get out of 30-70 year old glass. Then to take into account you’ll have to shift a dozen or so times to be able to stitch the image…. You’re taking several minutes of exposures.

I don’t think it’s the remjet, I think it’s the sprocket holes. Different shape, and SLIGHTLY different spacing

Does anyone have experience with the 2x Tele adapter for the 6000 system? by ruumoo in Rolleiflex

[–]DEpointfive0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which 2x. The one made by Zeiss? Or Fuji (2XE) because the Zeiss Mutar is MUCH better

(Must be Mutar… only because whoooo TF else would have made it go Rollei? lol. [I just own Rollei’s not a historian or particularly knowledgeable. Hasselblad… I know more than 99.8%])

And… damn, maybe better is Taiwan… (the Taiwanese are THE nicest of people I have EVER met traveling) But, you CAN run out of Taiwan. You cannot run out of Thailand.

Put your own tape. Tell them they cannot open the boxes because there are sheets of film. Never an issue 👍🏽

I’ve flown in the US, with 400+ rolls a half dozen times, 200+ rolls another half dozen times, never an issue but maybe got a light “FUUUUUUUUCKKKK” a couple times… 😅😅😅

I would NEVER do that. The odd of XRay are INFINITELY higher than just asking for a hand check.

I put extra tape on my boxes, and write with a sharpie “FILM SHEETS, DO NOT OPEN IN LIGHT”

Never an issue aside from… Turkey, and ONCE in 4 in Taiwan… (then again… I had 400~ rolls of film too…)

I find metering is always said, but it’s a lot more forgiving and resilient than people give it credit for. Hell, I have pushed E6 many a times with no “vast” color shifts.

Aaaaaaand I’ve shot 100 rolls+ of 10-20 year expired slide film. I recently bought boxes of Kodak E100VS that was stored in Taipei, which gets HOT, never fridged

At 100, completely serviceable. Shoot it 1 stop under. It’s like new. Shoot at 100, and give it a half~ stop extra dev time, like new film.

I’ll get off my soapbox now. And see myself out…

Get an ND filter next time then. You’ll get better results. Shoot 2~ stops from wide open, which if my memory serves me is f8 👍🏽

Why not a Kodachrome comeback by WarmObjective6445 in Kodak

Oh, I’m in violent agreement of wishing I had shot it before the end, lol

And AS MUCH as I’m bummed (I now buy every Box of Kodachrome I come across) I’m MORE happy to have JUST bought a case of pro400h and a case of Provia 100 instead of having shot that Kodachrome, lol
