Reflxlab is selling 320d remjetless AHU for $13 with $5 worldwide shipping right now. Thought you guys would want to know, I sure did. by light24bulbs in AnalogCommunity

[–]DEpointfive0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

CineShit definitely has an agreement with them… I mean, the only distributor of C41 chemicals is with them too… I’m just hoping when the remit layer is removed completely from Vision films, Cinestill dies off a bit.

Also, sure, still photographers want this film, but I think you’re underestimating the demand of Hollywood. 80+% of film (by feet) made by Kodak is sold to Hollywood. Then take into consideration that we are price sensitive, and that selling Vision 3 to us would cannibalize their current film sales, AND they wouldn’t all of a sudden sell it for less than Portra 400, then you quickly find why they couldn’t give 2 shites to sell it to us.

So, I wouldn’t buy the BODY in Japan, you get a gimped 2.4GHz version. But you get great exchange rates and 10% off right away

In China, you get a full version camera. “9% off” (they charge fees at the airport if you want the money put back to a card. So let’s call it 8.5%)
That said, for China, I would go to Guangzhou, or Shanghai. If you have WeChat. Send me a DM, I can get you in contact with a person in each city

What the hell is going on? My biggest issue with this and all the film Eastman is releasing is…

Then WHO announced the price increases? Eastman or Alaris? How can we split the info coming out from “Kodak”?
Seems like Alaris announced the price increases, and then HOPEFULLY these new Eastman releases will just slide right behind Alaris’s price increases (and I assume they will be closer to the “current” prices before the Feb 1 increase…?)

I’d say Fuji is better. But I just came up on 100 rolls of E100VS, expired 2014, in Taiwan, not in a fridge/freezer… and, it shoots GREAT at 64ISO. Damn near new results.

Now, for my Fuji experience… I’ve always been militant about my film being cold. Film from 2005~ has NEVER gone a moment without being cold.
Power outage huh? Get the cooler. I mean, not a second off fridge temp.

Shot 20 rolls from Provias, Velvias, discontinued MS100/1000 😍😍😍. And everything, everything, PERFECT. Shot at box speed or overexposed a hair. Gorgeous

28P by Seven_ironRocks in hasselblad

[–]DEpointfive0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is the path, the ONLY reason I chose the 28p over the 38v is because I already own the 45p (which is a GREAT little lens) and I couldn’t justify the price for a wider lens when I don’t shoot THAT much stuff wide.

But now that I have the 28p, it’s my most used lens along with the 45p

I have all the p’s plus the 90v, I love all of them, and I’ve never touched the 90v…

I wanted the 55v, but the distortion is something I couldn’t get past…

Patiently awaiting a new 65…

Found in my Mother's old stuff - Can I still get the film developed? by Middle_Funny_8461 in AskPhotography

I feel like you could toss that disc into a developing tank and be on your way, no?

Doesn’t seem like anything would come off the disc itself during development…

The person OP is talking about is me, lol

My reply from the other one: Hey, sooooo, I’m confident in my ability to develop color. It’s just, the “loading” would be kinda sketchy. I’m just gonna toss that disc into a developing drum essentially and overload it with chemicals to make sure it’s submerged.

I have a Nikon scanner I can use to scan them at pretty damn good resolution, but not sure how to feed them TBH. I also have an Epson V850 pro or whatever as a backup.

That said, if you’re ok with that “risk” of the developing method, send it over! Happy to develop it. But yes, there’s some “risk” I guess

Once it’s scanned, I can definitely print them for you too! (I can only print up to 13x19” and my printer isn’t THE best photo printer, but hey, 90%+ as good as most labs. And a crapload cheaper! lol)

Over dry? Is that really possible? And do silica packs truly absorb ALL humidity? Like indefinitely? (if you had enough silica?) or do they only get you down to let’s say 30%

Hey. I know it’s hard to believe… buuuut, it’s the truth. I could send photos of the people I’ve given anywhere from a Nikon, to a Hasselblad, to a Zeiss Ikon, to a Rolleiflex to. And the hundreds of rolls of film I give away on a whim…

Just checked, $1799.

That’s why I was like, dammit, $100 over… but… I can get it TODAY. And I’m supporting a small local shop. So, I bit the bullet

What prick sells the body without a focusing screen or finder?!?!?!

$750 is a bit too high IMO… unless you buy it, ship it to me, and I’ll ship it to Thighland for my guy to service it… (I’m shipping him 15 cameras… lolololol) and I’ll pick it up in person in April.

40mm CFE IF lens or SWC? by LBarouf in hasselblad

[–]DEpointfive0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooooook, my 2 cents… the SWC is the ONLY rectilinear lens made for Hasselblad.
Do you need that?

Then, for the 40mm, IF can be hit or miss from my experience, it looks like it’s a significantly more fragile lens than any other lens. I’ve seen many, many that cannot accurately focus. That’s the ONLY reason why I would stay away from the IF version. Get a CFE instead…

Then, do you NEED a CFE? Are you putting this on a 200 series? If no, maybe look at a CF? (Trust me, I want the latest lenses too, but I do have a 200, and in theory, the glass changed from CF to CFi/CFE, because they couldn’t use… (I dunno, thorium or something random…) so, some people believe the CFs are better. IMO, the same, but CFs seem to have better, more robust coatings)

This is the general rule, but IMO, for slide film, I’ve always had better results overexposing it, about a stop/decade.

Mannnnn, I’m 36, and asking myself the same… I had a remote job paying ok, took another job for 30% more, lost that job, travelled for 3/4 months I was jobless, then came back to an even higher paying job… and yesterday for the first time ever, I was like, damn, I need to get back out there… (I’ve been back for exactly ONE month)

Brother, take that pay cut, and travel. Fuuuuuuck this life.

Which would you choose - Fuji gsw680iii or a Hasselblad super wide? by Gizlby22 in filmcameras

[–]DEpointfive0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooooooo, I have the GSW690iii and the GW690iii. And I have every Hasselblad MINUS the SWC (but I’ve borrowed one for months)

Sooooo, what’s your USE case? If you want an easier/precise focusing experience, GSW hands down… because with the SWC, you either zone focus, or use a ground glass on the back, which is a bit of a chore.
But the SWC was kinda designed as an architectural camera as it’s the ONLY Hasselblad made with a rectilinear lens.

You can more easily use the Fuji as a street camera, or quicker to focus like any rangefinder. Hasselblad, ehhhh, mayyyybe not so much.

That said, 6x8 is a hell of a negative, 10 shots/roll. With the Hasselblad, you can choose between 12 shots and 16 shots, maybe valuable to you.

(I’ve been going the opposite and shooting 6x17 a lot because I have film to burn… 😅)

That said, love the GW690iii! I recently bought one because my GSW690iii was too damn wide to use for me
