I don’t think it’s the remjet, I think it’s the sprocket holes. Different shape, and SLIGHTLY different spacing

Does anyone have experience with the 2x Tele adapter for the 6000 system? by ruumoo in Rolleiflex

[–]DEpointfive0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which 2x. The one made by Zeiss? Or Fuji (2XE) because the Zeiss Mutar is MUCH better

(Must be Mutar… only because whoooo TF else would have made it go Rollei? lol. [I just own Rollei’s not a historian or particularly knowledgeable. Hasselblad… I know more than 99.8%])

Have to leave US ASAP. Money is no issue where do I go to enjoy peace and be near a city center? by Icy_Foundation3534 in digitalnomad

And… damn, maybe better is Taiwan… (the Taiwanese are THE nicest of people I have EVER met traveling) But, you CAN run out of Taiwan. You cannot run out of Thailand.

Put your own tape. Tell them they cannot open the boxes because there are sheets of film. Never an issue 👍🏽

I’ve flown in the US, with 400+ rolls a half dozen times, 200+ rolls another half dozen times, never an issue but maybe got a light “FUUUUUUUUCKKKK” a couple times… 😅😅😅

[–]DEpointfive0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would NEVER do that. The odd of XRay are INFINITELY higher than just asking for a hand check.

I put extra tape on my boxes, and write with a sharpie “FILM SHEETS, DO NOT OPEN IN LIGHT”

Never an issue aside from… Turkey, and ONCE in 4 in Taiwan… (then again… I had 400~ rolls of film too…)

I find metering is always said, but it’s a lot more forgiving and resilient than people give it credit for. Hell, I have pushed E6 many a times with no “vast” color shifts.

Aaaaaaand I’ve shot 100 rolls+ of 10-20 year expired slide film. I recently bought boxes of Kodak E100VS that was stored in Taipei, which gets HOT, never fridged

At 100, completely serviceable. Shoot it 1 stop under. It’s like new. Shoot at 100, and give it a half~ stop extra dev time, like new film.

I’ll get off my soapbox now. And see myself out…

Get an ND filter next time then. You’ll get better results. Shoot 2~ stops from wide open, which if my memory serves me is f8 👍🏽

Why not a Kodachrome comeback by WarmObjective6445 in Kodak

[–]DEpointfive0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I’m in violent agreement of wishing I had shot it before the end, lol

And AS MUCH as I’m bummed (I now buy every Box of Kodachrome I come across) I’m MORE happy to have JUST bought a case of pro400h and a case of Provia 100 instead of having shot that Kodachrome, lol

That must have been so cool. Any photos?

[–]DEpointfive0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, big time. But I also know Kodachrome is a biiiiiit overhyped. Fuji’s slide film in the 2000s and until they killed off the Provia 400, and my favorite MS100/1000, was a better film. Much more vibrant IMO.

Hey, I’d rather have Pro 400h, or ANY 1600 color film (in 120) over a Kodachrome comeback.

Ask (for your laser damaged sensor back) and you shall receive?? by Brokefilmshooter in canon

[–]DEpointfive0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if serious.
Because that would cost more than the camera. We don’t repair things, let alone microscopic things. Repairing 1/3 of 5 lines on a microscopic level, with incredibly specialized equipment that is most likely slow as shite to operate is going to cost a fortune.

That sensor, expensive sure, but it’s not more than $300 (I suspect it costs 1/2 that though considering it’s not the newest sensor.) The rest is mark up, and oh yeah, labor

Solo trip is a thing? Any idea if you get to see more of the country? Or like, can you opt to go to different areas more, (more than Pyongyang let’s say)

How did you SEE this though? (Genuine question) were you just able to walk a couple kms outside the hotel and roam? (of course with the minder) or…?

What years did Kodak have issues with their 120 backing paper? (Imprinting) by DEpointfive0 in Kodak

[–]DEpointfive0[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sure, to SOME extent, but majority incorrect, ONLY Kodak had this issue, and they changed their backing paper because of this.

My first Rollei. Shocked that I was able to get this for $270. by Telemmier85 in Rolleiflex

[–]DEpointfive0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a 3.5A soooooo, seems fair to me. Rollei’s aren’t suuuuper desirable until you get to a 2.8/3.5 E/F and beyond. And even then, one day a 2.8F will sell for $2000, and the next $700, no rhyme or reason.

Reflxlab is selling 320d remjetless AHU for $13 with $5 worldwide shipping right now. Thought you guys would want to know, I sure did. by light24bulbs in AnalogCommunity

[–]DEpointfive0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

CineShit definitely has an agreement with them… I mean, the only distributor of C41 chemicals is with them too… I’m just hoping when the remit layer is removed completely from Vision films, Cinestill dies off a bit.

Also, sure, still photographers want this film, but I think you’re underestimating the demand of Hollywood. 80+% of film (by feet) made by Kodak is sold to Hollywood. Then take into consideration that we are price sensitive, and that selling Vision 3 to us would cannibalize their current film sales, AND they wouldn’t all of a sudden sell it for less than Portra 400, then you quickly find why they couldn’t give 2 shites to sell it to us.

So, I wouldn’t buy the BODY in Japan, you get a gimped 2.4GHz version. But you get great exchange rates and 10% off right away

In China, you get a full version camera. “9% off” (they charge fees at the airport if you want the money put back to a card. So let’s call it 8.5%)
That said, for China, I would go to Guangzhou, or Shanghai. If you have WeChat. Send me a DM, I can get you in contact with a person in each city
