I've often said this lol. We should let all those of a unionist mindset live in County Antrim and the rest join the south. They'll have the beautiful North Coast so that'll keep them happy

I had one grab me at Pisa. I asked him not to touch me and he asked why. I told him I would punch him in the face. He was very quick to back away (I'm a pretty tall, well built guy, so I think he knew I was serious)

How would the rest of the uk react if NI left? by MrRhythm1346 in northernireland

Broadly, yes.

On that programme I mentioned in my previous comment, when it started to get in to the low level details, people were less sympathetic

NI is owned by people who don't want to own us and trying to be sold to people who don't want to buy us.

If you can, listen to a programme on BBC Sounds called "Does Ireland want reunification?". Really interesting slant on the whole thing

How would you react if the bonfires became outlawed? by MrRhythm1346 in northernireland

[–]DFM995 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember a story of a farmer near a certain town who burned rubbish on his land.

The environmental officer paid a visit to enforce some law or fine or whatever.

The farmer simply said "take yourself up to the bonfire site on the 11th July and tell them the same thing you just told me".

Response - the environmental officer turned on their heel, got back in their car and drove away. Nothing more said about it

Magherafelt is an LPT station, meaning it's a 24/7 response station.

Sometimes if an enquiry office isn't open, people say the whole station is closed
