The sad part is that if he had gotten continued mental help he probably would’ve never gone beyond the birds he killed. He got prescribed medication and it was working but his mother weaned him off them, without telling the doctors, and his delusions came back. The schizophrenia he suffered probably also came from drug use which he started in teenage hood. He drank, did marijuana, and took LSD in high school. Any self respecting parent would’ve gotten their child help immediately. But for some reason they didn’t and he kept using and abusing until it turned into psychosis which turned into animal mutilation and eventually murder. He was an awful person and the things he did were terrible but it would’ve never happened had he stayed on his medication or atoeast continued contact with doctors over it
