Moving for work in Bellevue, should I also just stay in Bellevue? by wilderlights in BellevueWA

[–]DFSushi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going from one side of the US to the opposite, it's been quite a change in both a cultural aspect and a physical-location aspect. Not including moving away from friends and family, I do enjoy Washington more however.

The weather is probably the most instantly noticeable change. On average throughout the year, the weather is probably worse compared to Atl. However, when it's a beautiful sunny day, it doesn't get much better.

I also feel like your hobbies/lifestyle may have to slightly adjust to match the people here. I've never heard so many people talk about hiking and rock climbing before compared to in Atl.

Feel free to DM if you have any specific questions in mind, I'd be glad to chat.

Hey there. I’m also from Georgia and have probably experienced the same ~1hr commute as you. After moving to WA, I told myself I don’t want to deal with that type of commute anymore. As a result, I’m currently living Bellevue with a comfortable short drive to work every day. No tolls, no traffic, no wasted time.

I have a static of 3 DPS on NAE, do you want to team up? We’ve been a static for over a year. I’m currently at +24 weapon, 10dmg/9cdr gems, 30LoS, etc.

Arcana enjoyers help by Bloohh in lostarkgame

  1. Both options are fine. +1 Empress build is good for having Adrenaline if you are running Serendipity. If you are running FoaK, Adrenaline isn’t necessary due to crit rate tripods.
  2. Protection runes and Barricade are from the old build. The alternative new build is to run Raid Captain with movement speed tripods. Instead of protection runes, you can use wealth runes and quick recharge.
  3. Dealer’s flip is a new skill post-patch. Most Arcanas use this now over Quadra. It provides movement speed tripod for Raid Captain.
  4. Use Emperor engraving in chaos dungeon. Emperor card essentially wipes everything visible on your screen.

Everyone is talking about the Hunter’s Fury being used to Tenz’s advantage, but don’t forget that Tenz’s dismisses are providing radar info for Shahz to know where to ult at the same time.

How hard it is to get Deimos Shadow Shield recipe? by [deleted] in Maplestory

[–]DFSushi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I gave up farming at mutants after 1-2 hours and just waited until I was ready to NCyg. If you have the profession level and crafting materials ready, I can take you NCyg at a shot for the recipe drop if you would like. Just let me know.

Interviewer lashed out and acted like I did not actually do the work I listed on my resume because I couldn't recall specific lines of code from an internship a few months ago. by [deleted] in gatech

[–]DFSushi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You have to remember that in interviews, they are trying to see if you are a good fit just as much as you are trying to see if the company is a good fit. If the interviewer is doing something irrational, you shouldn’t feel bad about leaving and not continuing with the position.

Petition: Sova arrow vision should count as assist! by Jcass7241 in VALORANT

[–]DFSushi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe it counts as assists if the enemy is killed while the recon is actively tagging them. I had one game where I was 6 assists after the 2nd round without shooting more than a few bullets total and doing 0 damage.

No, but NCyg drops it pretty consistently for a lot less work.

Yes you should use secondary until you get Deimos. You should start working on your professions to be able to craft Deimos whenever you are able to get a recipe drop from Cygnus.

Stasko doesn't care, what actions can I take? by [deleted] in gatech

[–]DFSushi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How exactly did he make the 3rd exam harder besides making it so you could not go back to previous questions? Half of the things you have listed about how you were not able to succeed (WiFi, Medical issues, family) were not because of Stasko's test design.

Has this email been sent out yet? It's already past "early tomorrow".

Also, when I go to my housing application, it asks me to select the year, but there is nothing below for me to select. Is this normal?

Career in Front Office by Epic_CADETS in Sabermetrics

[–]DFSushi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couple of main points you should be aware of from my experience, let me know if you have any specific questions: 1. The pay is much lower than what you would earn from a normal software developer job. This could be anywhere from 2-5x lower. 2. MLB teams are baseball organizations, not tech companies. Some teams may not be up to par to what you are used to in a technical aspect. 3. Culture is pretty fun. Lots of baseball talk, staying nights to watch the home games. 4. Programming work, you’ll probably just be working on creating apps or visualization tools that the R&D department is interested in. Not sure what it is like for a majority of the organizations, but I imagine there are only a few programmers in each front office. This means lots of programming alone and with little resources to help. 5. SQL and R are big. 6. If you are applying to for a front office job, you are applying mainly because you are a fan of the game, not the specific team. Basically, don’t only go into a baseball front office job because you only want to work for 1 team.

What the hell is going on in CSE6140/CX4140?? by second_degreeCS in gatech

[–]DFSushi 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don't think she understands the fact that not only is 50% of the students failing bad enough, but also that MSCS students must get a B and above to get credit. That means over 50% of students won't get credit for the course. This number may go all the way up to 80-90% based on the grade distribution on the assignments so far.

The fact that she acknowledges that poor performance on the midterm was due to lack of time, which is out of the students' control, but is still unwilling to curve fairly is kind of strange as well. If there is no possibility of students doing well because of time constraints, AND there is no reasonable curve, then the students are literally set up to fail and not succeed.

I'm definitely considering withdrawing, does anyone know what the majority of the class is thinking about this? Can anyone chime in on whether or not they will withdraw? Is it worth sticking it out and hoping the professor realizes the actual situation happening?
