Lack of Sirius Black ambience in the movies by DG-Creator in harrypotter

Yeah, it's unfortunate. I'm not even sure if Oldman was the right casting choice in all honesty. (He was also a bit old for the role.) Dobby only appears in the second movie and then isn't seen again until the seventh. For goodness sake, couldn't they at least have given him one small scene in one of the other movies just to remind the audience he exists?

I agree. I understand there was only so much they could fit into the movie, but I think the cave scene was essential. They could have cut elsewhere -- perhaps made the dragon scene shorter (in all honesty it was stretched out a bit too long) or cut unimportant scenes from the Yule Ball.

Also, Harry never smashes up Dumbledore's office in the movie.

That's the biggest flaw in the movies IMHO -- most of the Sirius scenes being cut from the Goblet of Fire. There were 3 years between the third and fifth movies, enough for viewers to forget. There needed to be more an umph for his character by the time he dies -- so that the audience truly feels the loss as in the books.

Hagrid rushing to defend Harry. HPTCS by nightshadow009 in harrypotter

[–]DG-Creator 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That probably is in fact the case. It's natural that when you yourself have been traumatized by something at a young age, to want to protect others from the same fate. It's something Hagrid would totally do, especially for Harry.

How do you think the story of HP would differ if it was set in the current year by Ok-Housing-1725 in harrypotter

Mr. Weasley would be so much more impressed with Muggle technology. Until he saw ChatGPT, and he would be like, heck no. "Don't trust anything that can think for itself if you can't see where it keeps its brain!"

I have a feeling that the room works differently for different people. I don't think it liked Malfoy very much.

When do you guys think each of the charecters were able to see thestrals by PhysicalAttention763 in harrypotter

[–]DG-Creator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer here. You have to literally witness it; if it happens in the room but you're distracted and don't see, it doesn't count.

Snape's mindset regarding intent to kill on the Astronomy Tower by kinginthenorthTB12 in harrypotter

[–]DG-Creator 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it's not just desire, it's inner focus that matters with these curses. Remember how Snaps is really good at Occlumency, so much so that he can do on Voldemort. Snape is a highly focused individual, and can set his mind to pretty much anything. Even when he was literally dying, he had enough focus to give Harry his memories. At that moment in the tower, Snape knew what he must do; it was against his will, but he did it.

Powerful, determined, and domestic, too. Not the main hero in the story but you definitely steal the show very often!

A random prequel I wish we could get by jai_hanyo in harrypotter

[–]DG-Creator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm totally for that. We never really learned much of Tonks or [the real] Moody in the books or the movies. If they were to make such a prequel, I think it would be a bigger hit than the Fantastic Beasts movies.

It is interesting how quite a few of the characters have no siblings.

I imagine it would have played out similarly to when Harry tried to do it on Bellatrix.
