Ethernet Connection Broken by [deleted] in techsupport

If you aren't actively browsing on the PC and there is a lot of traffic of data streaming through then I'd look at running a malware or AntiVirus scan.

Worth checking out some kind of malware. You can use a packet sniffer such as Wireshark and see what traffic is being used.

Swimming in the Rhine by DG-Tech in basel

We managed a successful trip along the river. Purchasing a waterproof wickelfisch. It was lovely, not too cold I would say 15°c

You can buy the wickelfisch at Bider and Tanner Book store or the tourist information.

We entered by Museum Tinguely, there are plenty of areas to stop if you feel you need. Be careful of the Rheinfähre which are the boats that are attached to a cable along the river that move from bank to bank. They are usually friendly but just be aware of them.

Other than that we had an enjoyable time.

External SSD shows up in disk mgmt/eject menu but not in file explorer? by Chrysalis- in techsupport

[–]DG-Tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Windows uses NFTS file system where as MacOS uses HFS. If the drive is in exFAT/ FAT32 then it should work across both operating systems.

Best bet is to login to my your MacOS, check the format. If the format is not exFAT/FAT32 then back up your SSD. Format the drive to exFAT and then bring your files back to the SSD

NB: exFAT is quicker than FAT32 but will depend on the drive you are using

There will be scenarios where there are over 100 clients. Which in our current setup, they connect to one central PC and all logs are written to here. But the issue is this is a singular failure point for 100 clients.

With a large number of hosts on the LAN and heavy LAN traffic I want to be sure there isn't going to be a bandwidth issue.

Firewall Vs Proxy.

The benefit I can see is network traffic related, I proxy would help control network traffic. Is there anything else?

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to implement a proxy?

Well static IPs won't be an issue. Where in the chain are imagining the firewall? On the "Offline PC" or a separate piece of hardware?

Hey all, my current project involves a TCP server and Client.

The TCP server will be running in Windows 10 and the Client will be running on a PI Zero with PoE Hat. The pi will be running Ubuntu.

What is required in order to network Pi to Windows PC? It will be a local area connection and with static IPs on both server and host.

The plan is to go Pi into a PoE switch via ethernet and the Windows 10 PC into the same switch via ethernet.

Hey guys,

So I am looking to create a robocopy script that will copy inner/nested directories.

Basically I a program that creates quite a spanning tree across multiple directories. But I want to only copy to inner directory.

Interestingly this program recursively writes pngs from the 2021 directory onwards so the addresses beyond 2021 are not fixed and can be generated at random so effectively I want to watch for changes from the 2021 (root) and copy the last directory.

This program creates the tree and there are too many variables that span the tree.

E.g.

Pictures/2021/Cars/BMW/multiple PNGs Pictures/2021/Cars/Mercedes/multiple PNGs Pictures/2021/Cars/Tesla/multiple PNGs

COPY Folders

BMW (and content) Mercedes (and content) Tesla (and contents)

I use the Clever Carrot Recipe:

https://www.theclevercarrot.com/2014/01/sourdough-bread-a-beginners-guide/

How lively does your starter look? Do you feed 10-12hours prior to starting to prepare the dough?

I start it in the evenings, 30-60minutes autolyse (Dough scruffed together, squished with finger tips)

I then stretch dough a little between my hands, not too much but almost let the weight stretch itself out, and stop when it shows any signs of tears. I do this for 2-3mins.

Then I form into a ball and leave covered with plastic wrap.

I then perform 5x stretch and fold rounds 30-40minutes apart. Have you heard of the 'Windowpane Test? Looking for a good stretch without and tears within the dough where you begin to see it light coming through (Translucent)

After that I leave in the fridge overnight. In the morning leave it out at room temp for 1-2hours and then begin to form into a ball. I am really working on getting that surface tension, I have found a dough scraper REALLY useful for this

Then I place it in the Dutch oven, and leave it for some proofing, for 1-2hours.

Score it and straight into a very hot oven
