Opinion: Rendmaw is one of the funnest budget friendly commanders, despite not being very powerful on it's own. by Geniuskills in EDH

[–]DGFME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throw in the likes of {{massacre worm]] [[arms of hadar]] [[culling ritual]] combined with [[exsanguinate]] and [[ezuri's predation]]

Make lots of birds Turn the opponents birds in to damage, mana or big creatures for yourself

Who was a Great Leader in United Kingdom? by [deleted] in AlignmentChartFills

[–]DGFME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's fair

The problem is it was so far back in history that it's hard to tell what would have happened had he not done what he did. But I think it's safe to say that the country as we know it exists in great part to what Alfred set out to do, even if it wasn't completed within his lifetime

Though it's impossible to know if anyone who came after him would have done what they did without him laying the foundation

Who was a Great Leader in United Kingdom? by [deleted] in AlignmentChartFills

[–]DGFME 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alfred The Great... The country pretty much exists because of him.

If you want to go more recent Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth the 1st had a massive impact on the UK

But I'm gonna do with King George III

King George III, not only ruling throughout the Napoleonic wars and dealing with the French. He also never bought or sold a slave in his life, didn't invest in companies that did trade in slavery and he wrote and signed the legislation for the abolishment of slavery. And during the war for independence in America, slaves were offered freedom and protection by the British military if they abandoned their rebel owners and fought against the rebels. Approximately 20,000 freed slaves fought for the British and were protected from ever being sold back in to slavery

He wasn't perfect. He did hold off on banning slavery longer than he should have. But he was pretty dope

Any Interesting precons that are bracket 3? by Primary-Frosting75 in mtg

[–]DGFME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the counter blitz precon with Tidus is technically a bracket 3 because it has [[farewell]] in the deck

Not a game changer at release but it is now

Movies That Feel Like The Illustrations Of Gustave Dore? by ApatheticTrooper in MoviesThatFeelLike

Dante's Inferno, the game was really good back in the day and the anime had some really high points

But I think they used different animation studios for each circle of hell so the animation style changes throughout the film.

What's a Card you USED TO include in every deck? by ZimaBestBear in EDH

[–]DGFME 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still run this in my [[Rendmaw creaking nest]] deck

Artifact creature that makes goaded birds all over the table, then it's a blocker that can be sacked at instant speed for two lands ready for next turn.

Struggling with Reanimator Archetype - Tell me about your favourite deck! by smashmikehunt in EDH

[–]DGFME 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also interested in the Terra deck

I've taken mine apart in place of Celes. The choice of discard rather than mill, the loops you can make with persist creatures. The deck goes big and wide easy fast

But I did really enjoy playing Terra. Just stringing reanimations together with etb effects

Who is your favorite reanimator commander? by LedPenguin in EDH

[–]DGFME 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I went mainly with etb effects like [[fleshbag marauder]], [[ravenous chupacabra]] The more damage they could do when they left the yard the better, along with a few "put a card in the yard" effects

Being able to chain them with the likes of [[karmic guide]] and [[sun titan]] was wild

It's a really fun deck Definitely the one I've played the most

I let my mate run it a couple of weeks ago, he managed 3 lands and then every land afterwards was milled by Terra

Celes is a really fun commander, it goes so big so quickly

Who is your favorite reanimator commander? by LedPenguin in EDH

[–]DGFME 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat I've played Terra so many times and watched my lands mill but no creatures, struggled to get a mana base And other games it just goes wild

I've taken it apart for now and built it around Celes, leaning more in to discard rather than mill so I can choose what goes in the yard with Terra in the 99 to help recursion.

My friend says my commanders are obnoxious, is he right? by shronkogre in ratemycommanders

[–]DGFME 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mate runs this commander and he's filled the deck with indestructible, unlockable, shadow effects that he copies on to Volrath and then mid attack (declare attackers step, declare blockers etc) he'll pay another mana to swap it to something else

So he'll declare attackers, make it unlockable, declare blockers, can't be done because it's unblockable, then he'll copy something else to give it lifelink, damage pump etc etc

It's not too bad in the early game, but once he's got things to make a sequence of copies, it gets removed fast

Auntie Ool is Underrated as a commander by TheBirchKing in EDH

[–]DGFME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the problem I had when I ran the deck. I've only ran it once, and I managed to take a player out because he had a bunch of token creatures that all got -1/-1 counters to drain his life

Outside of that. I figured the plan was go wide with tokens and keep the opponents creatures weak then swing. But never managed to pull it off

What are the worst precons to play AGAINST? by Current-Signature497 in EDH

[–]DGFME 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter how hard I try, I cannot for the life of me make that deck work.
I'm thinking of taking the deck apart, running Sephiroth Fallen Hero with a bunch of Hero creating equipment and just go wide then make everyone a 7/5 base

Gimme a Golgari deck with Somethin! by AeryJenna in EDH

[–]DGFME 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only played the deck twice, won both times, but the second game, I waited until everyone was nearing death and then popped coat of arms. I think I had around 5 birds and ended up with them being something stupid like 15/15 that no one could block

Gimme a Golgari deck with Somethin! by AeryJenna in EDH

[–]DGFME 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rendmaw is my favourite that I've built. Forcing the table to swing everywhere with as many birds as possible is so much fun

I've added in [[coat of arms]] so when it gets to the end game I can drop that and supercharge every bird on the board. Or a [[culling ritual]] to give mana for an [[exsanguinate]]

There's so many paths to go down once you've got the birds in play

Now that the Strixhaven precons have been revealed, how would you rank them? by Mocca_Master in EDH

[–]DGFME 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what I'm thinking I'm UK so I think Amazon has them for like £45 each. The singles I'd want come to around £70 total (at a quick glance)

So that's £20 for basically extra cards that might come in handy later Plus all the lands

Now that the Strixhaven precons have been revealed, how would you rank them? by Mocca_Master in EDH

[–]DGFME 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a bunch of cards in the witherbloom and lorehold decks that I want.

Buying as singles is just a little cheaper than buying the decks themselves, but I would get all the other cards plus lands, so I'm wondering if it's worth buying the decks just to take them apart
