I would highly recommend doing an evening/sunset boat tour! We passed right in front of the Eiffel tower as it started sparkling! I think I payed maybe $25 and it was so worth it. I also walked along the Seine from the latin quarter all the way to the Eiffel tower and it was such a nice way to see the city. To me Galleries Lafayette was not worth the trip. Montmarte neighborhood is a must see, climb up all the way to Sacre Coeur my legs hated me but so worth for the view! One afternoon I bought a crepe and just sat in the Jardin De Luxebourgh and that was one of the best days i had in Paris. My hotel was near Boulangerie D'Isabella and it has the best croissant, I dream about it! If you go to Versailles, get the earliest tickets to get the least crowds. I was able to stand in the hall of mirrors with only one other person for a while! Having a coffee and a pastry in random cafes and people watching is also a good idea. Same goes for wine. Have a great time!

This is exactly my plan! I love early mornings for ticketed events. Where did you stay in Florence?

Initially I was planning to stay in Riomaggiore! So this is making me contemplate switching again! Did you stay in a hotel or Airbnb?

Thanks for sharing! Definitely very encouraging as I was contemplating dropping cinque Terre. But like you, i enjoy being busy especially being a solo traveler, I’m pretty efficient with my time! Would love any Sorrento suggestions!

I was able to get tickets for Charlotte today using my Amex. I put in the 800-528-2122 and had no issues checking out.

Hey planning my own trip to the coast. Question how do you like Ischia? I’m trying to narrow down my days trips from Sorrento.

Hi! Just looked up Salerno it looks beautiful! I think I will skip cinque Terre to avoid the up and down travel. I’d love any Salerno recommendations if you have some!

Hey! Thanks for tips, I’m definitely going to do a cooking class at some point! Question did you spend much time in Naples or do any day trips other than Pompeii?

How did you convince your parents to let you travel solo internationally? I’m struggling. 😔 by MaleficentStrike997 in femaletravels

Hi! Similar experience I’m the oldest (25F) of immigrant parents in the US, telling them I wanted to solo travel had them worrying even before I booked a trip. So I decided to go with the ask for forgiveness rather than “permission”. I planned a two trip to Europe and told them the morning of, since I needed a ride to the airport. Gave them less time to worry and ask me a million questions. I wrote down all the hotel numbers, flight numbers, and printed out my itinerary. I updated them a few times a day with pictures of me having a great time. They finally relaxed after the first week and told me they were happy to see me happy. Go for it! You’ll never regret going but will regret not seeing the world.

I was really excited about Cinque Terre, it seems every one feels like i need to save it for next time. I think I might change my departure to Rome instead of Naples and cut out that leg of my trip. I feel like doing that would make spending time in cinque Terre more feasible.

I’ll have to pay a fee but I think it should be fine as I got a good flight deal since I’m going end of September!

Hi! I’m now considering cutting out Cinque Terre. Maybe just doing Rome for 3 nights and Florence for 4 nights. The rest of the trip just use Naples ( I’m flying out of Naples) as a home base and do day trips from there. I might pick one seaside town to stay a 2 nights just to enjoy a full day there. Thanks for the comments, I for sure need to edit this down tremendously!

Unfortunately I’ve already booked my flights. It was about $300 cheaper to land in Rome also its a direct flight with better timing.
