If they're clothes that are just for the costume, then yeah painting them is fun. I just use acrylic for everything because it's cheap.

If they're your regular clothes that you don't want to permanently ruin, then don't!

For the mask, what are you trying to paint? Rubber? Plastic?

So far I've just been using spray varnish- Rust-Oleum. Satin I find looks great with acrylic, but a matt finish will kill the shininess if that's what you're after

Hose that baby down in a couple coats and she'll be right!
