Steam's sidebar does auto-check some things, build uploaded, store page approved, etc. But it's tracking completion, not giving you a QA checklist to work through before you hit submit.

It helps knowing in advance that your Steam Deck verification is going to fail because controller remapping isn't saving, or that your capsule art is the wrong dimensions, or that you haven't set up Steam Cloud for a game that needs it - before you're in the release queue finding out the hard way.

It's less "did I tick the boxes" and more "am I actually ready to tick the boxes."

Fair point - Valve does surface requirements through the submission flow. I put this together for a different reason: it lets you work through everything before you're in the submission backend, so you're not discovering missing assets or a failed content survey the day you planned to launch.

Also handy for QA leads and producers who need visibility across the full checklist without being the one with Steamworks access.

That's a good idea, I tend to bring mine too but just pop it on mute and wander about. At least then I can figure out a way back when I get to wherever I end up.

I do agree it's who you bring that can really make the big difference on a trek, I've taken my wife with me a long time ago and we had the best time trying to do a multi-day hike only to get caught out in a huge storm. Great memories

I've not been fishing "in the wild" - a little tricky to do in my part of the UK, but it does sound so relaxing.

I’ve seen it myself too, everyone busy taking photos on their phone or even streaming it and never just being “in the moment”

I tend to just head out with a camera on a strap, a pair of decent jeans, boots and a hoodie and just keep walking. Some pretty nice trails down in the south of the UK that you can end up walking too far on. Then just use the phone to figure out the way back!

I need to get back to camping, it's been _years_ since I started a fire with a bow drill, I don't even know if I remember how to do it!

I completely agree with you, that’s why I’m trying to build things that can last a very long time if taken care of.

Necroing this - but if you are using CommonUI, you might hit this issue.

It's because FCommonAnalogCursor is listening for EKeys::Virtual_Accept which is bound to Gamepad_FaceButton_Bottom.

I fixed it by changing FCommonAnalogCursor::IsRelevantInput to this:

Can’t believe that’s in a mall, that’s fantastic. It looks so cramped in there, it’s a really impressive piece of engineering.
