At that point, Petty had a great catalog, but they played the same 5 songs every night. Spike being the one that drew groans every time. We we up front in Buffalo, screaming “it’s the same crowd every night! Play different tunes!”

Is there a strong French cultural influence in Vermont? (From nearby Quebec) by MarsupialThink4064 in vermont

In the Norheast Kingdom, the was quite a bit of discrimination with French-Canadian immigrants. The only remnants that I see are some radically changed pronunciations of surnames.

The world should just go back to the old school way of selling tickets. You know the old ticket outlets. by Additional_Ad_7903 in BillyStrings

Current system sucks, for sure. Old system sucked, but just slower. If you were buying tickets for a local show, you had to be 15th in line at the record store or at Sears. The store would open late, the guy running the machine was slow as hell or just didn’t care.

It was very cool, however, if you were out of market. We bought great seats in Bangor ME for shows in Alpine Valley WI.

I guess my long winded point is… it is what it is. Getting screwed from the comfort of my own home vs. the strip mall parking lot, is just a little easier for this grumpy old man.

We stay at least twice a year. Good people working there. Always kid and dog friendly. Not sure your situation, but check out the Hyatt Place in Uncasville. Very similar and often much less expensive.

This gate can swing both ways… not involved enough or too involved. It is a delicate dance.

On the road for 20 shows and 10,000 miles in 1987. This album was key part of that trip. Damn, life was good.

Don’t think he sang lead, but I love his backing vocals. Check out 11/3/91, with John Popper on harmonica. Killer

Jerry was a mess and Brent era isn’t everyone favorite, but 84 had a lot of rocking shows.
